Hello Gang
I am thinking about trying out a 900G ball and the one that I have in mind is the "The Break S75"

It seems that the ball is well liked in here and so I thought I would ask a couple of questions here if y'all don't mind

What I am looking for is a ball to use in a fresh-oil league play so I can start throwing the ball out over around the 3rd/4th arrow out to around the 10/8 board.

I did have a Virtual-Gravity but that ball was, at least for me, a hit-n-miss type of reaction. I am currently throwing Storm and LaneMasters/legends which I love but I have been reading so many good things about 900G that I thought I would give her a go!!

people are saying that the "The Break S75" requires a break in period, please explain what this means. Also, between the "The Break S75" and the "Break Point" which is the more powerful ball?

P.S. is Tekneek the man to get the 900G gear from or is there someone else?

The Break S75 has a "Soaker" coverstock which basically means it needs to "soak" or absorb oil for it to reach its full potential. The S75 is going to be more "powerfull" than the Break Point. And yes Tekneek is an option but there are a few others that you can find by looking around on here.

You are going to get much better life out of the cover with the soaker addivtive, that is a plus.

Now my next point is this ball is strong, real strong, it was stronger than a stronger dilled dimension that I had, and it is much stronger than a virtual that I have, although the drills are way off so that is hard to compare.

I would go with atleast a 5x4 or 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 with the pin above fingers, if we say you have about 325 revs. That will give you some length with backend pop. You must have oil with the ball, or you can polish it to give it a little more length.

I love this ball already, and picked up a long pin second to try a longer PIN and MB distance with the pin above my fingers.

This ball when used on what it was intended for it is a stellar ball that I wish I ewould have got alot sooner.

No, it means that it soaks up oil and dispurses it. That's what "soaker" stands for, ....

The 'break in' period is a different issue on top of it's definition..

The S75 will be sooner and more effective on more oil, ...the Point will be longer and sharper at the spot (all things being equal)

The S75 hooks a little more overall than the Break Point, but the Break Point goes longer and turns harder.

I like 'em both, but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose the S75.

Thanks guys, I called 900G this morning and spoke with (I believe) Dale a real nice fellow btw.

He was suggesting for me to go the with Break Point and now I am thinking about that one

but what ever I end up with I'm sure I will ove it...stay tuned!

Hello 900Gs

Well, I used my new Break Point last nite in league and I am pretty disappointed in the ball as I found myself crushing the pocket with it ALL through the nite and getting strikes like nobody's business

Hehe, Ok, all kidding aside the ball was freaking fantastic and all I can say is at least for me the ball was perfect. The oil machine was used right before league started so we actually had a really nice shot for a while

and when it came time all I had to do was make small moves to the left (2 and 1) and follow the oil and I was in the pocket always...it was just sick!

Since league started late since it was the first nite of summer league I was tired so of course the nite wouldn't be the same if I didn't have a couple of operator errors to abuse myself with

so I threw splits in the second and third game 10th frames <sigh>. I am pretty sure that I am going to get the BOUNTY also to go along with this wonderful ball so thanks group for your help.

I have it drilled with a 5x4 layout with the pin just under my ring finger. I'm
so impressed with this ball that I got a 15lb BOUNTY from BUDDIES (the price couldn't be beat)

So in a short while I will probably get the BOUNTY HUNTER from tekneek.

looking at your profile, with the pin under your ring finger, wouldn't that be closer to a 4x4,..?

A while ago I picked up a Bounty blem with a 6" pin. I figured it wouldn't be very useful but I was pretty wrong about that.

The layout I have leaves the pin over the bridge about 1.5" and puts the thumb hole in the MB. I chose to leave the box surface at 1000ab.

Even with this layout and long pin the Bounty is still much more aggressive than anything I own. The good part is it doesn't roll early, it lopes through the front section but finishes very strong. Obviously if it hits dry too early it will make it's move too soon because of it's nature but that's to be expected.

I think you will enjoy your Bounty if you can use it. I find it to be quite versatile for it's conditions, takes to release changes well, and doesn't lose much energy as the lanes transition. (for me at least)

Well, when I ordered the ball I told my driller to lay it out with a 5x4 it could be 4x4 today when I get home I'll measure it...anyway, the ball is awesome and I am now a 900G believer.

Its kinda funny as my friends who heard about 900G and havent seen them now are asking me questions all night long...its a good thing!
