NEW RELEASE VIDEOS!
« on: June 13, 2009, 05:56:01 PM »
Break Point Pearl and Bounty Hunter videos are now up and running (links below)! Lunatic video coming soon... but there is a special two-shot preview in the Bounty Hunter video

My take thus far:

Break Point Pearl:

If you liked the Break Pearl, but found it a touch squirty on some oil patterns, you'll definitely like the Break Point Pearl. A strong, versatile pearl... you can make it play some pretty sick angles, but it's not just your everyday "long and strong" ball, because even in my limited play with it thus far, I can definitely see more versatility. Mine's drilled 5.5 x 5 (just like my Break Point, for comparison's sake), and the surface was left OOB. Video was filmed on older synthetics, fresh THS.

Bounty Hunter:

As much hook as the AMF Mega Friction, with more angularity at the break point. If a MF and a Break Point mated, this is what you'd get -- a ball that simply makes you say "holy $#i%, did that just recover?" Admittedly, marketing hype can blow a ball out of proportion. Yes, this is "just" a bowling ball. Yes, it hits hard, just like most high performance products on the market. But the bottom line here is that 900G has found a core and coverstock combination that makes for a big-hooking ball that both handed and less-handed players might find use out of. For now, I've left mine OOB -- and while I'm tempted to play with the coverstock, I kind of like mine too much the way it is. I figure I'll save it for heavy patterns and take advantage of a look nobody else has

Video links (note: Break Point Pearl is currently a lower resolution than originally intended... YouTube was being glitchy. Will attempt to solve problem soon, but at least it runs smoothly now!):

How is the Lunatic compared to the Creatures and the Link?

I will admit, the Bounty Hunter is the first ball from a video that has impressed me with its' overall hook. The ball looks nasty.

Your sarcasm is killing me. No.

The Bounty Hunter video should be running smoothly. I don't know why the Break Point Pearl video is being so glitchy on YouTube, but I'm re-uploading it as we speak (type?), and I'll see if that solves the problem.

To answer some other questions...

Compared to the Creature series, the Lunatic features a heavier midlane roll and a slightly earlier pattern read, no doubt the result of the stronger cover (even when polished). I've yet to polish a Maniac to get a precise comparison between the two at a similar surface, but I'd anticipate them being pretty close, with the Maniac probably being a touch stronger (even with the slightly weaker cover... perhaps because of the core and how quickly it revs???).

Break Point Pearl video re-uploaded at a lower resolution. Now runs smoothly... I am still going to try to figure out why the better quality version (the same quality as the Bounty Hunter video) did not run smoothly.

Enjoy, and if you have any questions, just ask!

I don't know if there's something about how you throw the ball, but these balls are possibly the most angular I've ever seen.  At first the BP Pearl reminded me of the motion I saw in a Bedlam video, but after looking closer it appears to be much harder of the spot.  The BH looks like it does the Virtual Gravity one better.  Way too angular for a heavy oil ball to me.

Wish you would have added a picture of the actual ball. Video is good.

I could be wrong but was Mika using the BPP in the first match on Sunday I know he switched to storm in the second match but I thought for sure the early ball was a BPP.
