PBA DHC Japan Invitational - Chris Barnes Wins
« on: January 17, 2015, 11:28:44 PM »
Only 16 days after rejoining the PBA, 900 Global is excited to have our first PBA Champion!

Chris Barnes earned his 18th PBA Title, defeating Mike Fagan in the title match to claim the trophy and 5 Million Yen ($43,000) prize!

Chris also shot 300 in the semi-final match against Stuart Williams, earning another 5 Million Yen Bonus!

Chris used his Respect both games during the step ladder finals.

Congrats to Barnes and 900 Global. He sure is making that Respect tempting. The prize money given out shows what the PBA is missing for its events in the US. 43 for 1st place and 43 for the 300...Barnes made his money for the year and January is only halfway over

The whole tournament was great.  Well worth the subscription to xtra frame.  Mike Fagan dominated the field, but couldn't carry in the championship with all strikes and 9/s.

Congrats to Chris. Pocketing some extra cash from a 300 game doesn't hurt either.

Pretty sure I said a couple weeks ago that Barnes was going to match up well and do well with Global stuff, caught a lot of flak for it.  Watched Barnes for a long time and I have an eye for ball reaction, and am extremely familiar with Global's equipment.  You're going to see a lot more of Barnes than we have for the last couple years.

I think this will be a new beginning for Barnes.  From what I saw on some of the highlights, it looks like he is having much better ball reactions now with Global compared to what he had with C300 the past few years.  Basically he can now let the ball do what it does best compared to trying to make something happen.  It's definitely a good future ahead for both.

It'll be interesting to see who else may join the pro staff.  Besides Lynda and Chris Barnes, Robert Smith and Brian Voss, I would not count out Michael Haugen Jr. from returning to the brand.  Since they delisted a few years back, he's been a free agent except for the 1 season with Roto Grip.

I subscribed to Extra Frame last night just to watch him bowl.  Glad I did.  Go 900!

Don't know if possible, but would rather see Steve Jaros in 900 gear than Haugen.
