Protocol :)
« on: July 13, 2013, 01:57:11 PM »
I can sum this ball up in just two words. Freaking AWESOME  ;D   900 GLOBAL pulled out all the stops when they designed this ball ( 2 thumbs up from me  ;) ) Three weeks ago when I used these for the 1st time i went 205 238 300 for the 1st 3 games out of the box  with no surface changes what so ever... I used the Protocol and the Hard Drive all night long  -  used the Protocol on the odd lane and Hard drive on even lane. was able to swing the hard drive just a little more then the protocol. They both moved more then I thought they might. That was a plus for me seems how I would rather swing the ball then play more straight up. I have not been under a 700 ( 743 703 778 743 ) set from when i have put these 2 balls into my bag :)   I cant wait now for the Grip/IT  to arrive next.   Thanks again 900Global  for all these new balls that have just been released.

New line up of equipment in my bag now for the summer sport shot league

  S-55 Rip/IT

 S-70  Protocol

 S-70 Break Pearl

 S-70 Versus

 S-74 Hard Drive

 S-77 Pure HOOK

S-79 Bullet Train  ( 4my spare ball )  :)

I have several other balls that are not in the bag right now because there are just way to many great balls 900Global has made over the years.

If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

last night in our sports shot league, I once again pulled out the protocol & hard drive & the opposing team had storm & hammer equipment. We was on the U.S open pattern. I can say after the 3 games, 900 Global equipment had the highest 2 games on the pair and the highest series... 1 of the guys on the other team who was throwing storm was so impressed with the protocol he was going to look into getting one to throw in the next couple of weeks. :)  900GLOBAL equipment has now converted over another storm bowler  ;D  woohoo

I would love to try a protocol...im very excited about the tech involved..just like I was for the src with the bank... (didnt work out for me..I tried though) BUT im 4 for 4 on 900g balls (all 4 were first drills) cracking on me...im 2 for like 30 on storm (both bad plug jobs on used balls)...

That sorta thing rubs me the wrong way, so do all the complaints on this forum about balls cracking from San antonio...has this issue been looked into?  Is it getting fixed?  That used to be my favorite plant in the old c300 days..

I've only had a couple crack on me, and that was after plugging and leaving them alone for a long while. Remember, no grips or bevel here, so there's that. Which balls cracked on you?

I have been throwing 900/amf since 08 and have yet to have one crack, except for my bounty hunter, which cracked between the fingers due to the fingers being drilled to close together.

Dozer,
I was not a fan of the src core. I've had a few seismic also poured by 900 and a war eagle now and no cover issues. I am a huge fan of the war eagle!! I was a huge storm guy for ever but I am liking the 900 covers better. They seem to hold up better for me.

I've had several crack on me.  Double clutch. Both creatures.my bank roll just cracked at the bridge only but the others were all the way around the ball. I'm done with Their stuff. I know this can go back and forth as to why and so forth. I go to a reputable pro shop.  Only complaints he's gotten was the stuff coming out of SA.  That to me says volumes.  Plus with all the ones that have cracked for me.  Make the shell at least what the other companies do and i don't think that would happen. Just my .02 well now it's cost me over $700 after getting replacements and drilling.

I've had 3, 900 balls crack, 1 Hammer, and 1 roto grip.  All of these went completely around the ball, from finger to thumb, around the back of the ball. All had finger grips and switch grips, and were not used very much, but that right there is a thousand dollars worth of bowling balls.

SRC core.  Didn't care too much for my Bank (one of the balls that cracked) but absolutely love my Green Mamba!

Protocol looks good, but I'm not rich, so I can't afford to buy many balls and have them crack.

Ive had some issues with some cracking in the past. They were all older releases tho. The Break s75 cracked on me and both bounty Hunters cracked on me. Had a hairline crack around the fingers on Bank Pearl that never got bigger. Right now I have 35+ balls out of San Antonio and haven't had one crack in a while. Not to mention how awesome they are with taking care of issues. Best customer service of any company out there. My Bounty Hunter Pearlshould have never been covered under warraty, no other company would have replaced it and 900G made something right that wasn't their fault. I definitely would recommend trying the Protocol or war eagle, 2 great pieces.

I have well over 170 balls just sitting around in a large closet undrilled and not 1 has cracked on me in many years. I have drilled up many of there balls in the past & 1s that have just been released and Ive only had a war eagle and break point crack on me in the last 4 years:) the War was drilled the break point was a NIB ball ( 1st NIB ball that has cracked on me in over 10 years ).  that says something about 900Global's equipment considering most of my bowling balls have been sitting around for years and years still in there org. box unopened...   if you want to take it from someone that has bought 900Global equipment for almost 8 years now I have had no trouble with 900 Global replacing anything that has cracked on me or gone bad with in 1 year of its release date :)  how many other ball company's can say this?  NONE that I know of...  900 Global customer service is the best right now  taking care of a problem you might have with one of there equipment  :)
