Well I just got back from Reno and had just about a perfect weekend throwing nothing but 900 Global. Here is a quick breakdown of what I threw and how we played them.
Team – 2:30 on 4/3, lanes 19-20
I threw a Bounty Hunter Pearl drilled 5 x 4 with a small hole up and in from my axis to control the back end a little more. The surface was a 2000 pad by hand. This is the same ball I used a few months ago on the fresh at the USBC Masters, also at the stadium, and had a lot of success there.
I looked around 8-10 for all three games of team, getting the ball to around 4-6 at the break point. I never really had to move and shot 247-202-245 – 694, and our team posted 3088. Not bad but we all felt like we left some pins out there. I know I whiffed a ten pin, had 4 ring tens and a couple solid nines.
Singles and Doubles – 5:30 on 35-36 and 33-34
For doubles and singles we scouted our pairs out for a while before we bowled and we saw lots of rev rate and surface on our doubles pair, and two teams of probably 140 average bowlers on our singles pair. The odd part though is that the guys on our doubles pair started around 12 at the arrows with a lot of surface, but never really got left of 18 or so.
In the four shots of practice we saw tons of hook, but some push downlane. I went through my Lunatic and Bounty Hunter Pearl before settling on my Break Point Pearl (drilled 5 ½ x 5, box finish) in the 5th frame playing around 22 at the arrows. After games of 237 and 244, with my partner adding 259 and 279 we were on pace to take the lead. With lots of good shots the last game, and chasing the oil into about 26 and both of us doubling in the tenth we ended up with 1507, taking the lead by 9. Here is a link to the story on bowl.com:

I switched to my Break Out and just followed the oil inside from there to end up with 652, and a 2104 all events score. I had an amazing ball reaction with three different balls on three different pairs.
I also have to add that while bowling a squad at the Bowlers Journal Tony LaCaze and I put up a doubles effort of 1972. Tony shot a blistering 1020 and I added 952 throwing a mix of the Lunatic and Break Out, both at 4000. It was an amazing weekend and I couldn’t be happier.
