Respect & Break Down
« on: February 04, 2015, 09:16:27 AM »
So has anyone pre-ordered the Respect or purchased the Break Down? If you have thrown them, what are your thoughts? I haven't received my Respect yet, but the Break Down has a very unique motion. This ball is what I consider my all around go to ball. I drilled it pin below my middle finger with the mass bias around 55 degrees. This allowed me to lower the RG a pinch and lower the diff even more. I am able to go straight or hook it as much as I want. This ball will very rarely over react off of the dry given the low diff, but the asymmetry of the core allows the ball to have enough energy to go through the pins the right way. Let me know what you all see out of your Break Down or Respect.

The more I hear about the Break Down, the more I want one. Given the specs, I didn't think I needed another ball like the War Eagle, because that ball is money as is. But everyone is raving about it, and it's a undeniable fact that you can not go wrong with the Break weight block.

So I guess I will be picking one up lol. Lay it out like my black eagle.

I couldn't agree more. I really think everyone should at least have a break down in their bag. The motion is something not many have ever seen. I can see this ball getting a lot of bowlers help during transition or if you hit the surface with say a 2000 pad you can probably throw it on longer patterns.  Let us know how it told if you decide to get one Impending.

This ball has a very nice roll to it and lets you play the dry a little more.  I have noticed that it likes straighter angles vice opening the lanes with it.  I can get it to the pocket no problem when opening the lanes with it, but seems that is where my carry percentage goes down a little.
That said you can play the dry more which in turn lets you play the straighter angles for a lot longer amount of time.  Will be a great transistion ball on sport patterns...

This will work where I bowl league, because the shim messes with anyone with any hand. Dumpers delight, from 10 to 10 is 45 feet of heavy oil, but if you dump it up 8, you have tug in and miss right. You get in and attempt to wheel... not so much. I get trapped during the transition. I actually showed people that if I just dump it up 8 I had the world, but if I get in, it's a trap. Now this ball is for certain.

I like Chris find the ball likes straighter angles. As he said can swing it with the best of them but it won't have a great carry %. Also when on lanes with burnt heads it's good if you can get it down lane. We bowl on old wood lanes in one house and it"s dry have to keep the speed up even with the higher rg to get it thru them but if you do watch out the ball is great, alittle polish works great here.

I swing it with the best of them and the carry is out of this world.. sorry your not able to carry when u swing yours, maybe u need a little more hand in the ball..lol  this Break down is a beast,  I can either start the night with it on a clean THS or grab it in the middle of either the 2 or 3rd game if I choose so and just move 5 boards back to the right and play the same line I was playing with the respect. It is a must ball to have in anyones bag.. thats for sure.   dont leave to many 10 pins with any ball because the head pin is always heading over to clean that side of the pin deck if anything is still standing ;)
If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

For me the Respect is strong. It has a very similar ball motion as the Moxie, but with more length and a more backend pop. Definitely compliments the Moxie. It comes back from anywhere! I also seem to carry hits that I would have never imagined to carry. It throws pins around to no end.

Break Down is simply awesome. If you've thrown a Break core ball, you are going to expect that strong downlane motion with the Break Down. However, you won't get that backend move. It is a must have in the bag. I have been able to throw this on fresh as well as burnt, broke down shots. The ball reaction is the same no matter what the condition. I can play straighter and more to the right than I would have ever imagined. If you want a ball you can feel comfortable with playing straighter and being able to square up to the foul line, then enter the Break Down. Feel free to put a strong drill on this, or your favorite. This ball is super drill friendly!

All in all, both have their place and I haven't had an issue being able to throw either.
