The Eagle has landed!
« on: March 24, 2011, 09:01:53 AM »
Drilled up a new Eagle before league on Wednesday .

Layout:
Pin is 4.75" from PAP, MB just right of thumb, weight hole 2" down on VAL.

A little too much ball in OOB surface for my local THS. I had to throw 2mph faster than normal to keep it in the pocket. Missing slightly right or left was OK as long as I kept the speed up. I decided to stick with it and see what happened. Started the night with a trio of 10-pins, then went on to shoot 244, 203, and 299 for a 746 series. I was a little soft on the last ball, and it darted through the nose.

First thing I did when I got home was hit it with some polish. That should put me back in the comfort zone. I'll report back after Sunday to confirm (or deny!).

Update:
Polished over OOB...4 sides with FinesseII.
Went over to practice tonight. I'm in love.
Ball is still very strong, but smoother.
Only threw one game tonight. Same pattern as Wednesday night.
Stood in the same place, same target (17 to 7), but softer (normal) speed.
First three, then 4-pin, then sheet. 279. Packed it up.

This ball inspires the confidence I have been lacking for several weeks. I realize I have been aiming the ball. Now I can get up and let her rip.
