The Look/ War Eagle/ Global Gurus
« on: March 13, 2013, 10:07:02 PM »
Hello to all
I have The Look and the War Eagle coming and I was looking at my Bowlers Journal. They have the Look (56 hook) and the War Eagle (52 hook). I thought the way people talked here the War Eagle was the stronger of the two.

Anyone who has both could you please give me your take on the two balls. Thank you in advance.

I had posted the same question a little while back. Every response seemed to be that the War Eagle was much more ball. This was somewhat confusing to me as the Look has a stronger diff and stronger coverstock. I have these two balls drilled virtually identical with the addition of a p3 hole in the War Eagle and I have polished the Look with UFO polish until it looks like a marble. I still find the Look to be stronger. I plan on putting both ball back to box finsh and comparing them again just to see the results.

I have the look hooking more.....2 totally different layouts tho. The look is 80 x 4.75 x 25 and the war eagle is 65 x 3.75 x 65.

Well, let's look at some numbers...

War Eagle   2.50   0.047   0.019   S70   neaT
The Look   2.55   0.050   0.017   S75   neaT

Same OOB finish, Look cover is stronger (S75 is stronger than it seems), higher RG, higher diff. Drilled the same (Which mine are, just haven't thrown them yet.), the Look should be much harder off the spot due to the higher RG core saving energy, and the cover.

Also, they're going to hook at different spots on the lane. I just punched up a bunch of Global stuff all in one day (Hook Green/Black, Hook Pink/Black, Look, War and Black Eagle, Train and Freight Train) and everything that I drilled (Except for the Black Eagle and the dull Hook), is 70x5x30. I believe that the covers offer enough difference to allow for that.

i have both and comparison wise to me the look i have factory and war eagle is also factory and for me the look picks up mid lane and is smoother off the spot then the war eagle look drilled 50x5x50 and we 50x4x55 and war eagle is much sharper off the spot but if you dont have enough head oil then the WE picks up early and goes and the look picks up the mids and is smoother off the spot in my opinion does not have the sharp backend for me
If it is worth doing then do it right.

I never threw the look. But punched up a war eagle two weeks ago and it is quickly climbing the list as one if my favorites all time. 7 league games. Averaging 237 with it. Versatile, clean and great finish. Great carry light and heavy. Drilled 45x4x65 and its just great.

Threw both my Look and War Eagle last night at a candlelight function, and even though you really can't see the absolute ball motion, I had the War Eagle covering a few more boards total and earlier/smoother than the Look. But of course, that was my first time throwing a ball since August. Take it at face value. :)

I have thrown both the balls & no longer have either 1 of them in my bag at this time. :)  IM not saying that there is something wrong with either ball, they just don't fair very well with my game and a few other people that have thrown them as well in the sport shot league we bowl in. I Like the pearls much more because they give me a much better read and reaction down the lane where I need it most and a better entry angle to the pocket for better carry :) and the carry is awesome ( dont leave many corner pins with that entry angle to the pocket)   ;D  I know this don't help you much on what your looking for on either ball. I will say this though, the org S-75 break was a much better ball then its remake version of the LOOKs cover stock &  IM still undecided on the war Eagle at this time. I myself have drilled up 3 of them & Ive got another 1 from my buddy Steve and they don't seem to roll as well as all my other equipment & don't carry the corner pins near as well for me as all my other equipment I use, so I choose not to put them in my bag for that reason only :(  I have thrown there newest Release, The Rip/IT for over 3 weeks now and Ive avg well over 250 in 21 games. still not my go to ball but its moving up in my bag to be in my top 3. The Org. Break Pearl( S-70) is still my #1 go to ball and will be for some time. My Pure Hook( S-77)  is my #2   #3 is the Rip/IT (S-55) #4 is my Bank of 900 Pearl( S-70) #5 is the Dirty LOOK(S-73) & #6 is my spare ball the Bullet train (s-79) (  pretty pricey ball for spares shots, but I don't miss very many spares with it when I do use it. LOL )  ..   just my 2 cents worth if it matter to you or any1 else.. :)  900 has come a long ways & they keep raising the bar ball after ball, keep it up which we know you will :) .. Thanks 900 Global!!!  2 thumbs up from me and all the others that throw your equipment in our league

If you want it, go after it and make it happen.  If you don't, you have no one to blame but yourself....or maybe your just not throwing the right equipment  :)

The Look wasn't ever intended to be a Break S-75 remake. Only thing that's the same is the S-75 coverstock. Different core, rg, diff...

My S-75 and Look are different beasts. Drilled the same.

Personally, I see the Mamba Hybrid being smoother and plenty strong. I love the SRC core, and my Bank and Bank Roll are plenty strong. Different motion than the Breaks, though.

I have three weeks in with war eagle.  I'm a 205 average ths. I'm averaging 236 in league with it and shot multiple 200 games on the usbc open shot I've been practicing on. I love it. Quickly becoming my favorite ball. Always consistent and carry is great for me.

My Break series cores are sharper off the spot than the SRC cores, but the SRC continues better for me.

I so agree with this statement.  However, my Look is a boat anchor for me.  I put my favorite drilling on it. It's such a turd.  I haven't attempted to polish it yet but I didn't expect it to burn up as quick.  The description said it get length and turn harder.  Mine starts early and pukes.  I love the color though.
