Whats it worth?
« on: April 01, 2011, 11:54:32 AM »
Have a NIB Break S75, kinda curious what it would be worth today as they seem to be very hard to find. I rarely ever see them come up for sale. Just the occasional ball on ebay, and even that isn't often. I've considered drilling it a couple times just haven't gotten around to it, might consider selling it now as I've been throwing primarily Lane #1 here recently. I don't really know what to ask for it though. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is 14 or 15 lbs with good specs probably get around $80 to $100 plus shipping.

If 16lbs probably $70ish.

Since Phil hasn't made any more "Soaker" coverstocks, to an afficianado of Dyno-Thane/900Global, it might be worth more - maybe $125 - 175. I say "might". Whatever the market will bear. Especially with good specs.

Kidlost is closer to the right price. I just saw one listed on here or ebay for $75.00 + shipping.

There's only one other 15lb that I could find on ebay and it's quite a bit higher than what you guys are saying. I look at ebay on a daily basis almost and I have yet to see one for 75+shipping. There was a 14lb for 100+shipping I think, but rarely any 15lbs.

Here's the only other 15lb 1st quality ball, same guy is selling a blem and it's up around 100 shipped already as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/900-Global-Break-s75-bowling-ball-/220761417888?pt=Bowling&hash=item336667e8a0

So then put it on ebay and see what you get for it.  Of course you would think that those prices are low if you throw mostly lane 1 stuff, obviously you have a distorted view on how much you pay for a bowling ball.

Globally my game has never been better in tourneys they always say im a longshot, in my head i am always the favorite.  At the end of the day I'm scoring a raw profit to deposit in the bank.

I'm trying to avoid ebay if I decide to sell it. Just looking for a decent baseline price. I don't want to gouge people but I don't want to give the ball away either. I was just curious because I've seen in the past that it is a fairly sought after ball.

The prices on lane #1 balls aren't any higher than 900 Global or any other manufacturer; I've bought a good number from every company. The most I've paid for a Lane #1 ball is about $150 which is the same i paid for my Bank. On top of that, I don't buy into paying $100+ for a used ball like some people. I don't care what brand or ball it is.

Don't forget Ebay and paypal fees.

If your selling it on here, just post an ad and put the price you want or best offer and see what happens.

I sold a NIB 15lb Sapphire Zone on Ebay 3 years ago for $300 plus shipping. I started it at $125 because I saw another one on there end for $225. It was on there for one day and went to $300. I ended the auction and sold the ball. About 3 months ago there was another 15lb NIB on ebay for $100 plus shipping. No bids, was relisted and got one bid and sold for $100 plus shipping. You never know what you may get if someone is interested.
