Which one?
« on: September 15, 2009, 06:02:45 PM »
Hi Guys, right now, the only global 900 ball that I am using is the S75.. Other balls are the Hammer Sauce(polished), Columbia Arch Rival, Storm 2nd Dimension and a spare ball... I was thinking about adding another Global 900 ball on my arsenal, which one would you suggest, the Bounty Hunter, Breakpoint or the Breakpoint Pearl?  By the way, I really loved the reaction that I got on my s75.. Thanks!!

To help everybody out with suggestions and to save some time, what kind of reaction are you lookin for?  We could also use some idea as to you bowling style.  That will help match you up.

But I guess a good go to ball could be the Lunatic.  I hear it can fit a wide range of styles.

If you can find one I'm sure the original solid Break would treat you good, it's kind of like a 7 iron.  You will always use it everytime you bowl.  I starting to hoard some of these...good luck.

If you want something that will remind of of the S75, I would say go with the Break Point.  The BP Pearl is going to be longer, and the Bounty Hunter is going to be earlier and a lot stronger.

I say Break point pearl, there will be to much overlap between the Break point and the S-75, and the Bounty Hunter is on a whole different level, that ball is TOO strong.

with the BPP you will get a length and hard flip reaction

From his original post, it sounds like he doesn't have the S75 anymore.  If he wants to replace it, the Break Point is the way to go.

I have a Break Point Pearl, and I love it, but the Break Point is going to mimic the S75 pretty well.

I can play the same line with my Break Point and S-75. They just have different reaction shapes. S-75 is earlier and smoother ,Break Point is more skid / flip

Thanks for the quick replies guys... I still have my s75... If the Break point would be too close to my s75, then that leaves with two choices left.. The Bounty Hunter and the Break Point Pearl.. Now, my only problem is not knowing which one of these balls would not overlap with my current arsenal.. Thanks!!

from the looks of your current set up I'd say grab a Lunatic....looks to be a reaction you are missing in your bag.

By the way, I also have the Storm Thunder Power for drier lanes... just forgot to include it on the list.. Also, theres a thread here saying about their disappointment on the bounty hunter.. any thoughts?? Should I still consider getting the Bounty Hunter?

We bowlers are an odd bunch....the manufacturer tells us that Ball A is good on this condition and Ball B is good on that condition. Yet when we see a guy buy Ball A we think "man, I'd like to have that ball too. but wait, I never face that kind of lane condition. Oh, it doesn't matter because I can always sand or polish the ball and MAKE it work on that condition." Why not just get the ball that fits the hole you have?

If we would just listen to the manufacturers and the pro shop guy that would not be a problem...

The Bounty Hunter is a ball designed for HEAVY LONG OIL.....unless you see a condition where nothing else you have will hook DO NOT BUY THE BOUNTY HUNTER!

If you need a medium oil ball, don't buy a heavy oil ball.

Just my 2 cents...........

I agree with Doug, the Bounty Hunter is just way to strong for any type of house shot

I also think the ball you might want to try is the Lunatic, its a great mid range ball that can be used on a wide range of conditions, I love mine and its a great benchmark piece.
