Will Global come out with a Urethane ball??
« on: May 06, 2011, 12:08:39 AM »
Seismic has the Desperado which is poured by 900Global. I was wondering why 900 Global hasnt come out with a urethane ball yet. Maybe one with the Bank core or the Break core inside. That would be awesome.

Current Arsenal:

RADICAL SLANT
MOTIV CRUEL C51 LE

BLACK DIAMOND

BANK SOLID

A.M.F., which is owned by 900global, had the urethane HYPE a while back, and they couldn't hardly give them away.

After that experience, I doubt they're interested in making another one with their name on it.

I don't know about sales figures, but the Hype Urethane  was (still is) a good ball.  In terms of all the other urethanes that  were released, the Hype seems to always get mentioned as being the most  aggressive.

If sales were indeed bad (or slow) it  may be because the ball was so strong......and OOB finish was already at  4000 abralon!  But the ball is still listed on their website, so it  doesn't look like it has been discontinued.

I guess if 900G decided to release a urethane offering, my guess would be that it would be in the Hook series.

they are still available in very limited quanities, I don't see them re-inventing it unless they use a much weaker core, the Hype Urethane out hooked most mid performance balls on THS

The AMF Hype urethane was among the strongest (read: earliest and largest hooking) of the urethanes made in the last 2 years. If you had high ball speed or at least. higher ball speed than rev rate, then you could use it. If your rev rate matched your ball speed or you had more revs than speed, it was virtually useless. Just too darned strong. The cover was closest, IMHO, to that of the original strong urethanes, like the Blue Hammer. Neither ball could I get a shine on. With a spinner, it took a long time and massive amounts of energy, time and effort to smooth out the surface, Never could get a shine on it.
