AMF Sideways....................
« on: June 21, 2010, 08:32:17 AM »
Have any of you thrown the Sideways? I got the Clutch and i just threw my friend's Break Out and Sideways yesterday on a Fresh Chamelon pattern. It was very impressive. I think the Clutch and Sideways will be great for my winter league. I just want to try out some new AMF stuff.

I''ve had the Sideways.  Very good strong pearl ball.  You should be able to get a good deal one now due to the new equipment coming out shortly.  If you like the Break Out (I do), I''d wait for AMF''s new Double Clutch.  Same core shape just shorter.  Less cover friction too.  This would be more ideal for a THS for a right hander.  I would use a Break Out on a THS if I was left handed since the left side isn''t used as much.  Another AMF ball coming out is the Shredder.  Stronger cover, symmetrical core.  Looks like a good replacement for the Sideways.

for me it was a very strong "sideways" motion  was way more than i expected.  had decent luck with it though.  after i shot 298 with it playing WAY in left field, i shelved it for something a bit more reasonable.  The Clutch I enjoyed throwing, but right now, I haven't put down the Heist Pearl.  the HP is just pure money in my hands right now.

I have 2 of them right now 1 pin up 4.75x60x40 and 1 pin down 5.5x55x70. Both are at 2k plus Snake Oil. The pin up one lives up to it's name with very easy length and a very angular move to the pocket. The pin down is still very strong but just smoother as to be expected. I can play pretty much the same target with both but just have different ball motions. These both have been my goto balls in the center that has more oil for me
