Has this ball been released to the distributors, yet? If not, when is the release date?

Mini Review

Went with a 5x5 layout on this, wanted it to be very smooth.

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g271/wasahawaiianrat/securedownload-8.jpg

Mild midlane read much like any urethane ball but still tails on the end.  Much much stronger than the natural for me.  Also Flairs 6 to 7 inches but it still an arc, never over reacts off the dry.  Played 20 at my feet, 10 at the arrows, 7 break point on fresh 41 foot THS to start.  Not really the condition for the ball but it was strong enough to make it back to the hole no problem. Noticed when i got fast with it, it would push past the break point but still made it back lite.  Moved out closer to the ditch to get some more friction, 10 to 5 and in. Very smooth of the friciton again but rolled up really strong! was very happy and surprised to see this core flair so much.  Would love to see what it does with a weight hole.  Another quick thing about the cover on this hype, after throwing it for a block it never shined up, after throwing a natural for 3 or 4 shots, it shined up real quick.

You CANNOT shine this ball (I tried for about 5 minutes )! Truest form of urethane I have seen since reactive began. I am excited to finally have one.

Kyle, do you always picture your best customers with the products or is that some sort of incentive to purchase the ball?

This thing definitely needs polish!!!  Definitely find it to be stronger than the Natural.  Another poster insists it is difficult to polish, well I'm going to find out later this evening! ..  Flares a great deal as well

Will post before and after pics later...

As two people said here, in Bowling This Month's review they said it's much stronger than the Natural.

This thing sounds like the Liberator. That ball did not easily take a shine either!!

The Liberator...I increased grit step by step and then applied polish step by step.

I did not match up with this ball at all...I hope the Hype is different. I do like the Ogre Urethane...to me--the ultimate dry lane ball.

I was able to polish it, but not until taking the cover all the way down then back up to 2000. It comes very gritty OOB. I havent found a real use for it yet, probably gonna roll good on Cheetah when I next encounter that pattern. From what I have seen this ball hooks very early and has very little backend reaction which is exactly what I wanted in a urethane ball.

900G pours A.M.F. balls, and I believe they also poured the Liberators as well. The Liberator supposedly had the original black U-Dot cover, so i wonder if the HYPE is similar?

I'm using A.M.F. now ( when I get to bowl ), and used to love my old U-DOTS, so I may need to get me one of these.

Real urethane is hard, no doubt about it. It is also why  once polished it goes longer and hooks less, very unlike resin.

Also "real" or "true" urethane does NOT make a dry lane ball by any stretch of the imagination. They are medium oil balls, unless your ball speed far exceeds your rev rate.

This is why Visionary's Glowing AMulet and now their Ogre Urethane use HARD surfaced solid urethane and polish these balls at the factory.

Their polished Slate Blue Gargoyle is a "real" pearl urethane.
