New/current Orbit Extreme & Nighthawk
« on: August 27, 2007, 10:53:39 PM »
I just saw an AMF ad in the current issue (September 2007) of BOwling This Month. In addition to showing the new ball, the Heist, they showed that the Nighthawk and the Orbit Extreme will still be made and another new ball, the solid resin Orbit Extreme. (FYI the name is no longer "AMF300", but returns to "AMF".)

Although the Orbits and the Nighthawk use that forbidden "dash into the past", old technology, the famed Superflex coverstock, these 3 balls compete with any ball out there for power, versatility and utility.

A good fact about the Orbits is they use dynamic strong cores: RG of 2.46 -2.5 and RG differentials of around .040". That's an important factor I believe.

I remain amazed that "real" bowlers get their "panties in a knot" when a ball dares to "insult them, by using such old technology as SuperFlex. If it didn't work so well, I could understand; the fact that it does and people refuse to even consider just amazes me, but as I have said before ....

Love Superflex covers.

Continue to look for a ball like The Thing of 2.53 and .045.  I like differentials of .045 and you just don't see many.

Also ----

Try the old Columbia Surge:
Coverstock: 600 grit solid Superflec, with MICA for added grip.
for 15 lbs ball: RG=2.527, RG Diff = .045"
FYI to add to the POWER of it, it even has a Titanium ceramic nugget at the center!!!
BINGO!
