Old AMF Ninja
« on: March 15, 2006, 01:24:57 AM »
Hi there!

Its my first post here. I play since I have 7 years old (1987). Since 94 I play with an AMF with a NINJA with a sword on it, so I guess the name of this ball is ninja. Its a 92 ball I think. I would have have precise information about my ball. Cover, core, etc. I don't think this ball have any particularity but I play very since few time. I have an average of 205.

I have another question. I would like to change it but I'm affraid. I like to have a regular curve. Start to curve in mid lane and go right into the pocket. I don't like freakin curve in the end of the lane. I'm really lost in all this new balls! Please help meeeee!

Not much help, but this will get you a start.

AMF's "retired" section doesn't go back very far.

I don't know the numbers on the ninja but if you want a smooth ball I would go with either the Supreme Justice Pearl, The Titan SE or if you want the two piece pancake reactive you could with a mellow light oil reactive Orbit.  Hope this helps, Derek

I talked to someone today and he said that the AMF Ninja is one of the first reactive ball. I'm surprised...I was sure it was a plastic ball. This ball is more for dry-medium lane, so I need a ball that is good on oiled lane.

Something more for oil but not a heavy oil would be the Supreme Justice Solid, or you could go with the Titan SE.  Titan SE you can pretty much set it up for any shot other than really heavy.  If you want something even stronger go with the Terminal Velocity.

Its for tourneys only.

TitanSE is good on dry-medium and oiled but not on heavy oiled lane? That would be cool for me!

http://www.bowlersparadise.com/shop/balls/amf/amf_titan_se.shtml I love it!

Thank you!

I prefer the Justice I think! Its write...

-BEST LANE CONDITON : Medium-Heavy Oil / That mean that this ball is good on medium oiled lane to heavy oiled lane? Or something like medium on sides and heavy in middle of the lane? or Medium at begenning and heavy at the end? That's confusing! hehe

Yeah I found this reviews few time ago. The ball is not the same though. Mine is black with AMF write in white and it have a ninja with a sword in white too. Its not write NINJA.

I'm agree with all the reviews! Its one of the first reactive ball on the market and I still play with it. I give it no love love at all (no maintenance on it) and I play 205-210 average. I can't have the same hook on oiled lane but its still playable but on a different way.

I love this AMF ball and its why I really want another AMF ball.

"...I thought nothing was going to happen then it moved from the far right (I am talking 2 or 3 board from gutter) into the pocket..."

This ball is hot for this reason. I can throw it really far to the right and will comeback right into the pocket. If I throw it more in the middle of the lane, the ball will not go to the far left of the lane. The ball will only have few hook and stay in good strike position. Its amazing!

I WANT ANOTHER ONE!!

Mine is black like the NINJA in the first link you posted but the AMF is white engraved. I can see a ninja drawing with a sword in his hand. My ball have been sanded and pilished a lot of time, so the head of the ninja his disappeared and his feet too. In front of him I can see something that look like a bowling ball. Maybe the draw are white now because of his age.
