Radar Review
« on: February 14, 2006, 02:44:36 AM »
A few weeks back I drilled up this ball, used a 31/2 by 3 drilling.
Even though the ball is pearl I wanted it to be sooner than some
of my other equipment that has 5 inch pin to PAP drillings. One of the centers
I am bowling in has been heavliy over walled with carry down and wanted a miss in to still react.

I am very happy with this ball, the new Tower core is a winner in my book
I can't wait for more equipment with this core to release.
The Radar is stronger overall than my Velocity was( which is one of my favorites). It is more continuous in the back end , and mixes the pins very well. Reminds me somewhat of the Maximum Velocity.

If you want a ball that is clean through the head and strong and continuous on the back end get a Radar.

Drilled the Radar with a 4 1/2 inch pin to pap above fingers cg 3 1/2 from pap and a small deep balance hole low.  For me out of the box, because I am a tweener of sorts the ball tend to push too far through the mid lane.  So I took the ball to a trip to the spinner and applied a 1000 abralon pad to it.  This did the trick.  The read I gained in the mid lane was exactly what I was looking for.  This ball always seems to turn the corner and hit. I notice when I throw a shot that looks like a half ten down the lane the ball still slaps the ten out.  If you are looking to replace the Velocity or Max velocity don't hesitate to drill a Radar or two.  With the all new Tower core this ball definitely turns the corner harder than any other AMF300 ball in the current line up. Because the ball is so clean through the heads it will definitely be a medium oil ball, which makes it very versatile seeing that in todays lane environments, hooking balls can only be used so long before burning too early. I can see this ball working for all styles, it's just that good.  Very Impressed to say the least.  Great Job to the Boys at AMF300 designing this one. Can't wait to see what is next!  Feel free to contact me with any questions about the AMF300 line.

Nathan would definately agree with you that this ball turns hard.  I drilled mine 4x 2 1/2,  1in weight hole below the Pap.  Ball has a 4 1/2 pin.  Used this ball on the Long Oil pattern sport shot and man it still made it back.  I was not throwing the ball that great which supprised me that it was still making it back.  I can't wait until this weekend to hit a normal shot with it.

Janette Piesczynski recorded the first perfect game in this years USBC tournament in Corpus Christi using the new Radar. Janet started off singles with a 300 game followed by 233 and 256 to take over the lead with a 789 series. The perfect game marks only the second shot by a women in the 103-year history of the tournament.
