What happened to the new epoxy ball??
« on: February 01, 2005, 02:34:31 AM »
Anyone know where this ball is at???? Or did they scrap it because it cracks or just does not last like they thought??? I am curious because a no hander like myself would buy a couple of these for tournament shots and pba patterns tough shot leagues i bowl in.

I am thinking it may be kind of like...the strength of particle (when on oil), but with the versatility of resin. (IE: not burn up as fast, or at all maybe?) Oh well, its a thought! I am quite curious about this myself though. I ALMOST want to break from the nation for ONE ball, then go back to it!

IS this that super hook monster i heard about months ago?  I remember people saying that Voss threw a normal shot with a TNT, and threw this ball and watched as it sailed in the left gutter at 40 feet or something.

I hope truly that isn't true, or else we can just throw bowling in the crapper right now.  That would bring the end.  You wouldn't even need ANY sort of skill....

And BK, you can't have another ball and be part of any nation.  You have to be pure.

I don't know about you guys, but I bowl on Anvillanes, and I don't need anything that breaks HARDER!  I keep begging them to put more oil down, and no matter what they put, my TNT as well as my Max Velocity just sit in the bag because they break TOO HARD!

Do we have crackers to go with all the whine in here. Bring on the technology, I'll gladly take a seed ball for you. These guys developing aren't stew knots like you seem to portray them. I am sure that they have numerous runs with epoxy formulations to make the best all around ball without "sacrifising" the sport. Just because it has the capability to be xtra strong doesn't mean that is what they will release. (you can put a strong cover on weak cores to help) I'm glad most of you are not in charge of product development we would still be bowling on lacquer with manhattan rubber. Pat any major plans of some good PR upcoming to promote its release? Good luck.

Wow, I am glad to here all the comments about our new Epoxy ball. I can tell you this. We have put more R&D hours in this project then on any other ball I have been involved in designing. I can't tell you all in a post because my fingers would fall off. But what I can tell you is this. The ball can be made as strong or as weak as we want. There is not an oil pattern out that this ball will not roll through. In saying that I am very concerned with the concern from the shops and bowling centers about making to much hook. I can tell you with absolute certainty that we will not make a ball that is too much hook. I want people using the balls not sitting in there bags. The real deal with these balls is that the ignore carry down and do not see any wet dry. When the lane carries down they just roll through it. When the wet dry wall is up they hook if you get it in and arc like a urethane ball off the dry. There is so much more I would like to say but this already is getting long. Keep an eye out. I personally am completely confused, and disgusted with this. What in Gods name is this going to do to bowling? 1 ball that works on all lane conditions? What is the point? I might as well just quit bowling because that is completely retarded. This ball will indefinitely ruin this great sport of bowling. It will require you to have one ball for everything, and not need to have any hand. UGHHH stupid, just plain STUPID.

So, basically from what i gather, this ball will in a way, erase the need for a bowling arsenal?  Wow.

That is not what I am saying. This ball will not replace every ball in your bag. There will also be times it is not the best choice. It is just going to give you a different look on the lanes. Now in the future all balls may go away from a urethane base to an Epoxy base. But right now these balls are not skid flip type balls. So when you are looking for that skid flip type of reaction this will not be the choice.
