What layouts are working on the Sideways
« on: June 02, 2010, 04:59:03 PM »
I ordered my sideways before they are all gone. I ordered a 3-4 pin. I was going to drill it like I had my old rattler. Pin a 12 o'clock above fingers CG kicked out 3/4.

But my PAP was different then.  Now Im at 3 3/8 out by 3/8 Up. Im a lefty high speed 500+ revs. Not sure of axis information.

Whats working for you guys?

I am also lefty and I put the pin up above my fingers, cg in the center of my grip. I have higher ball speed, rev rate not as high as yours, but i can get on it a bit. This layout gives me length and a strong backend. Not sure if "sideways" is the right term for it, but it is strong, but not flippy. Usually i need some friction down lane to throw it, ball does not like carrydown.

I have 2 Sideways and have great reactions from both. #1 is drilled 4.75 x 60x40 which puts the pin above my ring with the cg kicked slightly. #2 is 5.5x55x50 which has the pin below the bridge and the cg kicked. Both balls are at 2k abralon + snake oil. As to be expected the first one get grat length with a very stron move to the pocket, not quite sideways but very angular and strong. As to be expected #2 isslightly earlier and much smoother downlane but still has a very defined and strong move to the pocket. Due to my slow ball speed i don't get to throw them as much as i would like but i am looking forward to the fall where i will bowl in a center that does use enough oil for me to play with them. They do take to surface adjustments very well also
