I have had both and prefer the Dexters due to width and stability. Easier to change soles also....

I had both and now wear Dexter because the hockey puck thingies didn't seem to give me as true of a slide as the whole sole does with Dexter.  The shoe bottoms of Dexter are wider and I think there is a difference in stability at the line as well.

Several pro shops in my area sell spare parts (soles/heels) right off the rack so replacements are easy to come by.

Making changes with the Exxxtras is a pain and not worth the effort. Also have to make sure you have an evenly flat surface!

I use the Exxxtras, never had Dexters, and I like the Exxxtras.  I found a source that had some teflon pucks and for synthetic lanes I use two teflons.  If I need less, I just put a slide sock over the shoe and I am good to go.  I bought my Exxxtras when they first came out and they still are in very good shape.

I've heard several bowlers who like Dynaroos, you might want to also check those out.

Linds had less foot comfort in the bed area but that can be aided by putting a quality insole in them. The pucks wear quickly. The linds wore better than the SST's especially in the toe and front of sole area. I also felt the Linds gave me a bit more slide than a standard set-up SST. Both quality shoes depends on preference and feel. I got rid of the XXtra's pretty quickly as they provided nothing new and wasn't in love with their pucks. I have a set of ABS Tour ultra's (asian release) with the same (puck) system and they wear better.
