Dexter SST 7
« on: April 09, 2005, 07:38:12 AM »
Well, I was down at the ABC's and spoke with the guys over at the Storm/Dexter booth. I was told the 7's are coming in June or july, probably June for the big show. The only info I was able to get was that it would have a toe guard like the ABS shoes. Apparently there are a few players using them. I am posting this so that maybe some more info can be posted as it becomes available. It was hard for me NOT to buy a new pair of ABS Tour Ultras while I was down there. They are quite comfy and I like the toe guard, something I wish my SST 6's had. Either way, if anyone knows anything else about them, please share the info.

Thanks

If the toe caps can be ordered/purchaced seperately, and can fit on my SST 6 LX'S...

I WILL POOP MY PANTS.

If not... I'll be a little bit pissed.

I saw them at the TOC this past weekend.  They're black and grey and sort of look like high end sneakers, but butt ugly IMO.  The toe cap is integral and not retrofittable.  The reps said they're big $$$ like $175 plus internet/$200+ retail.  The other big seeling point is a three material three piece heel.  Which is interchangeable with other shoes.

I think even Dexter may be a little behind ABS, I never tried a high end dexter shoe but I have my ABS tour ultras now and they are unbelieveable. The heel sounds almost like the ABS adjust-a-heel and the toe cap well ABS already has and dexter wants big bucks for these new shoes? I wish them luck as I know I'll be sticking with ABS if these shoes hold up, they're great.

I've worn Dexter's for several years. The lining in side of them begins to come loose and roll up after 2 years. I just received my first pair if ABS shoes (Black Tour Ultra's) this week from Buddies and have already worn thenm twice. They feel so light I hardley know I have them on and they are soooo comfortable. I don't believe I will ever buy another pair of Dexter Shoes again.

I know that Dexter has really been working on the heals and David Ozio was testing some at Baton Rouge.  Seems that is a big area of focus.  I did not see the SST7 at the Classic Products show in Dallas but he did have some of the new heals there  and got a better look at them.  Etonic had their new interchangeable heal and sole model there and it was sharp.  That model was based off their golf shoe.  If I remember they had a black toe guard and a lot of great features.  I started to buy a pair of the Dynaroos at Baton Rouge because I have never really owned a pair for personal use and the price is amazing.

I need a new job, designing shoes for Dexter. They have some serious ugly line-up of shoes. I did hear Etonic is releasing a multiple sole and heal shoe for Bowl Expo though. They have great design and construction but needed the high end multiple sole and heel shoe to compete. I also dig their Sandbagger shoe for a sneaker type not bad.
