Etonic interchangeable heels

For those of you waiting for Etonic to finally have a shoe with an interchangeable heel.. here is a resonse I just got from Etonic

Our shoes with an interchangeable heel will be available in November,
2009.

probably too little too late for many players. 3G, dexter, and linds, beat them to the punch much earlier.

Your comment doesn't really make much sense GREG considering those shoes we in bowling altogether much before Etonics.  If I'm correct on this Etonic came into the bowling shoe market only 4-5 years ago?  Yet have absolutely taken off and become nearly as big as Dexter and Linds.  Not too mention that Linds aren't approved for use in PBA events.  To me it would seem as though this would allow more people to cross over to Etonics that may not be totally satisfied with Dexter or others.

They really screwed up by messing up with their VHA system.. and to not release a shoe that just had a velcro heel like everyone else is dumb.. I heard that it had something to do with the technology patent rights but I dont know.. seems like all the others are using velcro..

I noticed last night that Mallots Etonic shoe had a special heel.. I heard that they will put a different heel on the shoe if you ask them too but it is permanent..
I am pretty sure that all pros that use etonics don't have the factory heel.. I couldn't slide a lick with the factory heels.. this was a while ago though..

i wanted the VHA shoes to bad they never made them.. etonic make THE most comfortable bowling shoe

I have said it before, they make the most confortable shoe.. The best push off technology(dont know about the dexter SST8).  I find the sst6 and the 3gs still squishy and slip a bit.I take some 60 grit sand paper to my push off sole to get a good grip...

biggest thing about etonic was the soles and heels.. Back when I tried a couple pair they didn't even have interchangeable soles..got the ESS blue and black and couldn't slide.. Talked to a guy at etonic and he said to send him the shoe and he would personally change the slide sole at no charge..
sent it in .. got it back.. still couldn't slide like I wanted.. I think the biggest part was the heel..
but awesome customer service..

if they would have just made a standard interchangeable heel while trying to perfect the VHA I think they would be leaps ahead of Dexter and 3g...

My guess is it's not velcro but magnet technology...just my guess

I took a pair of Etonic dress and used some really strong velcro from home depot on the heel. Then used dexter soles to adjust the brakes. It worked really good but compared to my SST6's they were not as stable. I really do like the extra width of my Dexters.

So that shark tooth heel makes it slide?  It looked pretty  tacky.. just from looking at it..Mallot slides.. but not much..... is the tooths pointing away what makes it slide better or is the material it is made out of slick also..

The shark tooth heel slide more it and have significantly less brake.  Mallot uses the PS4 sole which does slide all that much. The teeth point in the direction of the slide and IMO, the material is bit softer than the Dexter version.

NoseofRI, my comments make plenty of sense to me and many other bowlers who have already invested in shoes that have interchangeable soles and heels. the fact is that etonic came along after linds, dexter, and 3G already had models on the market that had this capability. as far as etonic shoes, "taking off", i haven't seen anybody in these parts wearing etonic shoes. the fact that linds isn't registered with the pba only affects a small minority of bowlers who bowl pba events---the vast majority of bowlers do not bowl pba events. i gave up on dexter as i could never find the perfect set-up in regards to the soles and heels and because there customer service was pathetic to say the least. i really liked my linds exxtras but again their customer service dropped the ball in a major way and i won't even consider buying them in the future. i first bought a pair of sport elite cabretta's from dynorooz and was so impressed with them that i bought another pair. later i bought a pair of 3g tour ultras and have found the ultimate bowling shoe-----the best materials, construction, and interchangeable soles and heels. i see no reason to change. i've sold many bowlers on giving up their dexters or linds and getting a pair of tour ultras and every one of them is glad they did.

i too hope that they come out with something nice looking, as well as have some options that dexter & the like dont have....what those options would be, im not sure.

I can personally not find a perfect combo on my SST8s, & i bought a pair of 3g's & sent them back upon trying them on.  I cant stand how thin & flexible the bottoms are, it just doesnt feel right to me, so i wont be using 3gs ever again.

Ive  been considering using etonics, but like others have said, i dont see many people using them that actually slide.
