KR bowling bags made in?
« on: November 04, 2006, 05:29:27 AM »
I just got done looking at my KR lane rover bowling bag and found a tag inside it saying the bag was made in VIETNAM. Does that make any difference to you?

All the parts are made overseas, but assembled in Illinois.

I was surprised the tag inside my bag said made in Vietnam. I know a guy who says he is good friends with the owner in Illinois. But it shocked me when I saw the tag.

If the tag inside determines if you purchase it I think you'd carrying your equipment around in a grocery bag. I've got 4 major brands availble in my shop and all have China, Korea, or Vietnam tags.

When you cant get a job paying more than $5 an hour because all the companies went over seas and you cant afford to bowl because of your only making $5 an hour, come back here and read your response.

Shipper, Mike Stout is president of KR (grew up with him and is a very good friend of mine).  I understand what you are saying but I also do believe every bag is made overseas now but KR does assemble them in their factory in Cicero, IL (I've been there). So there is at least some money being put back into them in the states vs buying them complete from a foreign country.

Rick,

I know a guy named Mark Millsap from Lake Station Indiana who knows your friend, says the owner is a nice guy. My only thing with all the bowling companies going overseas is just like all the other stuff.

When all the jobs are shipped out of the country, I don't want to hear, gee I don't have any money or a job. I know this sounds like an old man talking stuff. But me being a retired steelworker, I have seen a lot of things that were made in the USA now being made else where.

Mark my words, in the next 20 years or so, all the kids of today will be thinking totally differently when it comes to work.

I have a Lane #1 3 ball roller and saw a guy with a KR roller that looked identical, aside from the embroidery. I assume KR makes the bags for them?
