New Shoes?
« on: June 30, 2004, 02:46:01 AM »
I know I have asked around about shoes before. Well, my old shoes, dexter marshals, just are not getting the job done. They were fine when they were new and I was just starting. But now, I can see the need for good slides and stability. My question is.... When are the new shoe lines coming out? Or have they already and I missed it? I am planning on getting tour ultras. But, I didn't want to get some new shoes and have a new pair come out a couple weeks later or for their price to drop. Please LMK if anyone has some info. Thanks.

For the most part a lot of new equipment shoes included are released late July running into August. Sometimes they are out on the market a little sooner. Best thing to do is keep checking where you buy your equipment.

The important thing is to be able to slide with the same consistancy. Get a pair of ultra's (they are so light) and have your pro shop order you some "red" dexter slide soles. The soles that slide with them don't seem to provide a steady enough slide so what we all do in our area is to take the red Dexter slide soles and drill a hole in them and cut the center pattern out to fit the Ultras. Actually, IMHO, the Dexter SST 6 LX's are better than the Tour Ultras. They are just as light, just as comfortable and also have a wider base to help with stability at the line. Plus, they come with the soles and heels you need and you dont need to cut holes in them. Thats my opinion, but I have owned both pairs of shoes and I love my SST 6 LX's.

I have sst'6s there very nice. Are wider as you all know. The only thing bad about them is it takes a while to break in the rubber heels. but i like them very much.

The sst6's are fine and the tour ultras are fine also, in my opinion it is a personal comfort descision. I did not like how wide the sixes were so i tried the ultras and i loved them, yes the heels were down quick but id rather buy new heals than be in uncomfortable shoes.

I prefer the SST 6's because the base *is* wider, and offers me greater stability at the line.
