quick 3g question
« on: January 05, 2015, 10:36:18 PM »
Is it worth the extra money to get the tour ultra over the sport ultra? I am left handed and really like the look of a white bowling shoe and that is only offered in the sport ultra. But have read really good reviews of the tour ultra.

Is it worth the extra money to get the tour ultra? Anybody know the best price out there for the tour ultras if so?

The Tour Ultra's are awesome.  Light weight. Don't need any break in. I would say yes, they are worth it but that is my opinion.  Price, it's difficult to say. Being left handed, you may have better prices. They normally run like $169.

I have not found better prices. If I wore a size 6-7.5 they have a steal on some sites. I am unfortunately a 10.5-11.

Best prices so far have been 151.99 on tour ultras and 119.99 on sport ultra.

Why couldnt they make the white and silver in lh and make the decision easy?

I have had the tour ultra's for about 2 years now, and all I can say is they are the best shoes I have ever had! When I finally need a new pair, it will be a no brainer what I will buy again! ;)

I too am Left handed and have an old pair of White/Silver Tour Ultras (from back when they were DynoThane) that after 15-18 years need to be replaced. I love the white/silver also, and can't believe they only have black in LH. What a great shoe, I'd buy it in a heart beat if it was something other than black. I even sent a note to Thomas R at 3G, but he said there's not enough market.
I'm out on an injury right now, but need new shoes as soon as I get back. Still can't talk myself into the Black 3G and will have to try another brand I guess, but it's the best shoe ever, period.

I have the predecessor to the Dynothane/3G shoes, the ABS "Tour Ultras" that I purchased a long time ago.  They have served me well through a few years of college competition and numerous leagues and tournaments since.  They are still going strong.  I will probably get new shoes soon, not because of any material damage, but because I feel like the cushioning is getting a little suspect.  But what do you expect after all this time.

I would highly recommend the Tour Ultras if they are anything like the ones I have.  Extremely nice shoes.

The tour ultras are a better material, but with that being said I have the Sport Ultras and love them just as well.

Thanks for all the info. I think I am going to go with the tour ultas due to the replaceable toe cap and thats the main recommendation. Maybe I can spray paint em white.
