Storm Rascal 2 ball roller
« on: October 26, 2007, 09:45:22 AM »
Has anybody used this bag?

Any comments or concerns?  Does anybody have any pictures (other than the stock photos on the site)?

I'm looking to replace my 3-4 year old KR Eliminator - having problems with the zipper on the upper shoe compartment.  Would also like to get something with bigger/more sturdy wheels.  I don't think the Rascal has the bigger wheels, but it might do the job.

Anybody?

I'm curious about the "Foam Base For Protection and Support" and "Internal Shoe Shelf."

Looks like the shoes may just sit on top of the balls????

Basically, I'm looking at the same price for this bag or getting another KR bag - if I'm having issues with my current KR bag, I don't know why a newer bag would be any different.

I don't think I have too much stuff in the compartment to be causing the zipper problem - I have a pair of Dyno-thane shoes, 2 boxes of tape and a glove/wrist guard.  I have plenty of slack in the bag, but everytime I close the zipper I have to worry about the side of the compartment opening - the zipper just gives up.

I don't see where the two balls go.  Looks like a 1-ball roller.

I thought the same, but the size listed is along the lines of the other 2-ball rollers.

Looks like Buddie's has another pic of the bag.

Not sure about that foam bottom - wonder how that will hold up?

My guess is the internal shoe shelf id just a covered piece of cardboard. Have had bags like that in the past.

Interesting.  Like a normal 2-ball roller but rotated 90*.  I like it, it keeps the weight closer to the wheels than a regular bag.

I don't know about the Rascal but I had both a 3-ball and 4-ball Streamline and those bags are very well made.

Yeah, that was part of the appeal.  I thought it might be a little more stable going up and down curbs and that first step out of the house.

I'm buying some stuff from ebay and the seller also has this bag - hoping I could save some shipping if I get a bag and just have them shove the other items (grips, slugs, etc) in the bag.  I just don't want to spend the money and end up with a piece of crap.

I'm also debating this roller , and maybe this 2-ball tote.

So many choices.  I wish the local shops carried these items so I could at least look at them!

Thought about that, but I don't know that I'll have any better luck with the zipper on the upper compartment.

I see the upper compartment looks to be about twice as big (holds 2 pairs of shoes).  I don't think I need the extra space.

Does the eliminator have only 1 zipper for the shoe compartment? My cousin has one, but I've never really checked if that compartment has only 1 zipper.

No, it has 2 - you can zipper them both to either side or have them meet in the middle (like a suitcase).

My problem is with the left side (opposite the side pocket).  About half the time I zipper it the zipper will pull apart (about 1/2 the way up the compartment).  I double checked to make sure I didn't have anything pushing out on that side.
