new to bowling with a quantum aquamarine ball
« on: July 06, 2014, 05:15:41 PM »
I just started bowling and I bought a used ball because for the past two weeks I've been bowling it's felt great in my hand and fingers it looks pretty new but it already has been drilled I'm guessing for someone else my question is this good to use or do I need to get a new one drilled for me and does any one know anything about this ball
Thanks
Cr

Welcome to bowling! A Quantum Aquamarine is old, but it's fine ball to start with if you are just bowling during open play at most houses.  The core (engine) in that ball is one of the best, IMHO.  However, you will not be able to make any progress until you get a ball that is fitted to your hand.  That means you have two options:  have a pro shop plug and redrill that Quantum to fit your hand or buy a new one from them.

I recommend you find a reputable pro shop.  A good driller will watch you bowl, measure your hand, and in all likelihood suggest you buy a new ball.

As you get more into it, let me also advise you not to make the same mistake that many make, which is to keep buying new balls in hopes of finding one that strikes more.  Instead, invest in a good coach and develop your game.

Good luck!

This ball may be the perfect addition to anyone trying to battle over/under lane conditions.
