300 games
« on: March 08, 2014, 08:56:13 AM »
hey guys i just want to get your opinion on this..how many of you out there still consider bowling a 300 a big accomplishment? It just seems over the last few years 300 games ar a dime a dozen..i personally believe an 800 series has become the new standard for a bowlind accomplishment.Im willing to admit that i most likely would not have any honor scores if not for soft conditions and advanced equiptment.
300x 9 i think
800x2. 814,805
Sport league 300x1
To many 299s and 298 to count...still looking for 297

I care more about how i bowled, not how i scored.  I shot 300 last Wednesday, and i'm happier with the 212 i bowled the 3rd game of the set.
Those who can't bowl, bowl with two hands.

I've bowled 300 with everything from plastic to reactive over the years all are special for me. But when I bowl 640 to 660 and all games are clean that's when I am really proud.

To me the 300 isn't as special anymore, especially because you can shoot one and it's old news sometimes even just later that night.  800 is hard no matter what, so those I still appreciate.  However, I'm more into winning.  I had the front 9 the other night, left a stone 8.  What was I happy about?  279 got me into all the finals of all the brackets I was in.  Instead of worrying about getting "screwed," I kept my head in it and consequently won all my bracket finals.  The end result was that 300 instead of 279 would have changed absolutely nothing.  Already have my ring for the year, would have gotten through the brackets, would have won my points, would have won the team game, everything.  300 would have been fun, but realistically there would have been zero difference otherwise.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Couldn't have said it better myself. I still crave and value my 300s/800s but I value winning above that. The scores will happen.

I'm going on 20 years since my last 300.  I will be doing a happy dance on my next one.

...and it's still special.
Where are all my 2001-2006 posts?
