The Brunswick Jagged Edge bowling balls continue the Edge series of bowling balls featuring a low RG symmetric weight block. The Jagged Edge Solid combines the Brink Symmetric core with the Relativity 2.0 Solid Reactive coverstock. This ball has a lower RG and higher Differential than it's predecessor, the Cutting Edge, and can handle more oil due to the 3000 Siaair finish. The coverstock on this ball offers more recovery when bowling on medium to oily lane conditions.

The Jagged Edge Solid reminds me of the Cutting Edge Solid but more continuous backend motion.  The Jagged Edge Solid is definitely a great benchmark ball for tournament conditions and sport patterns

The entire Edge line has been a great benchmark ball series, and the latest edition, the Jagged Edge Solid is no exception. I threw this ball for a few shots in practice before a tournament on the PBA Carmen Salvino Pattern and then proceeded to shoot 279 out of the gate. This ball is predictable and will help you manage the pocket. Whether it’s on a league pattern or sport pattern, the ball reads the lane extremely well. This ball becomes my new benchmark ball and will see a lot of action in tournaments and leagues this season.

The Jagged Edge Solid is a smooth rolling ball that is good on a variety of moderate conditions.  It has a smoother shape that allows me to maintain control of the pocket when the lanes are on the tougher side.  I have thrown this ball for the vast majority of league games this season so far due to its versatility.  I am able to throw it very direct and also to move in and throw it away from me.  This one is a bit longer than the Cutting Edge Hybrid and reminds me a bit more of the Magnitude 035.  It seems to have a bit more rounded shape and carries just a bit better.  Overall, this one is a great ball for the majority of bowlers on many moderate conditions and is a can't miss in my opinion.

The Jagged Edge Solid is a symmetrical ball that is an excellent choice for sport and tournament patters.  It's even rolling, continuous, and takes well to surface adjustments.  Mine is drilled pin beneath the bridge and with that layout I can get the ball to control the backends very nicely, which comes in handy if you have a shorter pattern or a challenging condition with little area to hit.

The price point of this ball also makes it attractive for any bowler looking for a bit of a different shape than the "hockey stick" which is becoming so common in the market.  A reliable performer, the Jagged Edge Solid will not disappoint and I recommend trying one of these if you're looking for a ball to solve those tougher lane conditions.

I have been slow getting a review up on this ball as I decided to play around with the layout going 45x2"x45 (pin at least an inch right of my ring finger).  The intention here was to give me a ball that I could use in lieu of urethane for when the oil pattern is shorter and I need to keep my angles in front of me with a slow response.  It is not often that I require this shape, but without proper short pattern balls, I can make short look a lot more difficult than it needs to be.  I should also be honest that I am not a big fan of urethane.  I track low, so they just don't hit well and I am lazy about wiping my ball between shots.

Out of the box this ball just straight up rolled.  My first experience was on the Nationals Singles/Doubles pattern and I was very comfortable playing dead up 5.  Unfortunately, most of my experience over the summer was on wet/dry house patterns or longer oil so this ball just wasn't needed, but as of late we started on a 36' Challenge pattern in our scratch league.  The Jagged Edge Solid has been my ball of choice on fresh every week since we have went to this short pattern.  It tractions very early, rolls up heavy in the midlane and lays off down the lane to give me a little bit of tug room that I wouldn't see out of any other resin ball.  This short pin layout on a strong cover like this would roll out and hit flat on a standard THS, but on short oil it is the shape that I need to read the help in the front part of the lane and not jump at the sight of clean back ends.

Compared to other balls in my bag, the 2" pin Jagged Edge Solid is a bit stronger in the mids than my True Motion and at the same surface can handle more oil plus be a little more responsive if I desire to get my hand around it.  When my Jagged Edge begins to roll too early I switch to my pin in ring Vintage Phantom and can make a slight bump right.  Another similar ball is one of my favorites from last season - the Cutting Edge Hybrid which gives me comparable length to the Phantom, but a little more movement on the back end.

I recommend the Jagged Edge Solid to anybody looking for a lot of hook + traction at a very reasonable price.  I also recommend the short (2" or so) pin-pap layout for any tournament bowler playing on short or challenging lanes where there is no forgiveness down the lane.  This type of layout will get the ball rolling much sooner, read the fresh oil in a way that your pin ups would never even dream of and give you a look that completely under-appreciated in bowling.  This ball belongs with the short pin layout belongs in your tournaments arsenal.

The Jagged Edge Solid combines the new Brink Symmetric core with the Relativity 2.0 Solid coverstock to create aggressive mid-lane traction and strong backend motion.

I was looking for a tournament type ball with a strong but predictable motion. This ball checked off those boxes for me. The YouTube link shows the Jagged Edge Solid in action.

Drilled 55 x 5 x 35, this benchmark upgrade to the Cutting Edge series has a stronger cover and has a very predicable shape down lane. This gets into a quick skid and has aggressive mid-lane traction once reaching the back of the pattern with a softer flip arc motion to the pocket. However, this ball keeps that motion with a strong roll through the pins. Great Ball for the price and awesome for a First Ball out of the bag on Fresh House Patterns.
