BVP line
« on: April 07, 2006, 03:03:11 AM »
With the nemesis nearing the end of its time what is next? I am hoping they replace it with a BVP core and solid activator cover, any one else got any ideas what they would like to see next in the BVP line!

Don't expect to see Activator on the Mid Range for some time to come!

But DO expect to see something with PK18

You know a cover is good, when it's been used on countless balls and still holds that excitement factor when it will be used on another ball.

So what are we getting nick? A new core maybe? activator is over 3yrs old now and has run its course in the high performance and zone lines why not drop it to mid price?

Run its course??

Activator is still the most sought after coverstock in my shop and on the PBA Tour. I wouldn't say it has run its course when its still hot as ever.

If you look in the past, the trickle down effect doesn't occur for a good 5-6 years.

Sapphire Zone PK17 ---> Monster Series
Danger Zone PK18 ---> BVP
Activator ---> ????

Zone line doesn't really count IMO for trickle down because it is still high end product.

Hell, Brunswick could just re-release the Danger Zone and it would sell.

Hmm, the BVP core has already had solid (Nemesis), pearl (Rampage), and pearl particle (Ambush, isn't the Quantum Navy cover PK18-based)? Heck, Goliath is probably PK1-based as well. What's left on the BVP core?

They don't have a polished solid yet.  Arguably the Nemesis could be polished and it would probably overlap quite heavily with the Rampage and Ambush.

It does seem pretty complete, and without replacing something, I don't see much room for improvement.  Still, they can't let it stagnate, no matter how good it is.

I am talking about the original activator coverstock! It is now impossible to buy a symmetrical core ball with it! Personally I hate asymmetrical cores they are way to twitchy for me. PK18 is a great cover no doubt but over the last 10 years since it was released there have been so many balls with so many different cores that a new PK18 ball would almost certainly be a close remake of another ball!

I would by a BVP ball with the original activator onit in a second!
Better yet bring back the original Inferno. Still my favorite ball and there just are not many left to be had. I know that bowlingballdotcom or whoever has a remake but the damn thing is PURPLE like every other ball on the freakin' planet anymore. Sorry for the rant I just really want another OI.

The purple/silver quantum is not an Inferno.

Maybe Brunswick could do a retro range like ebonite did and bring back some of the old classics!

I'd love that more than anyone, but I dunno about that ever happening without a distributor actually paying to have it done like in the past!

Nick- I realize that the Quantum is not an inferno. Everytime I start talking about a rerelease of the inferno someone chimes in with purple/silver quantum. I was making a preemptve statement i guess.
