Are you sure you know why the Sidewinder does not move? Many factors can "prevent" a ball from hooking, including the drilling, too much or too little oil, surface prep of the ball or the player himself? I'd rather sort these out before you think about another ball.

The Sidewinder is a very weak ball, especially if you know you are on a heavier condition.  Fugu is right, I would sort all of those things out first, but know that the Sidewinder is not by any means an oiler.

You could always go with a Lane#1 Super Carbide Bomb (at least it's HALF Brunswick...right?). If you want the ball for te heaviest amount of oil though, go with a Visionary AMB Particle. It's strictly for floods though, so keep that in mind. he Brunswick ball I use for pretty heavy shots is the Bionic Zone 1. Hope this helps...

The Sidewinder was not, as far as I know, designed nor marketed to be a heavy oil ball. However, before you buy another ball, if you are not finding any use for the Sidewinder (great ball on medium oil), try sanding it to 600, 800 or 1000 grit, leave it dull and use it on a heavier oil pattern.

It is a half solid ball and it does have a light load of Brunswick's strong particles. Sanded, it should handle more than medium oil for the average rev, average ball speed bowler.

If that doesn't work, look for a Mammoth, Ultimate Inferno, Strike Zone or Blast Zone.

with brunswick, i would go with a blast zone... rolls early with a strong move to the pocket. it was my ball of choice out at nationals this year. alot of people underestimate how much oil it can handle but it really is a hooker.

Can't go wrong with a strike zone or scorchin inferno.

Do you REALLY think because one ball has the same core as another, they will both perform the same?

No wonder you have such a hard time chosing balls!

The coverstock/cover makes a larger difference than the core by, in general, a factor of 7:3.

Actually the GG was reclassified as a medium oil ball.  See link:  http://www.visionarybowling.com/ball_granitegargoyle.html

I had very good luck with it on heavier oil when I prepped the surface with burgandy scotchbright.  My best heavy oil balls were part of Columbia's Reaction series...the Arc and the Roll.  Both had surfaces that were very adjustable and both turned very strong in flood conditions when the surfaces were prepped with either Scotchbright or sandpaper.
