Monster line
« on: August 06, 2004, 08:08:59 PM »
I've started throwing the monster line. I throw the Monster slayer and frenzy. What can anyone tell me about the others in this line? I love the two that I throw.

The Monster consisted of:

Swamp Monster-discontinued
Monster Smash/r-discontinued
Monster Scream/r-discontinued
Monster bruiser
Monster Slay/r
Monster Frenzy-discontinued

I believe that was all.  The Swamp Monster was a high load particle ball.  The smash/r and Bruiser were basically the same ball, they both shared the same PK18 coverstock.  The smash/r was dull and the Bruiser was polished out of the box.  Either one could would act like the other with a surface change.  The slay/r is long and strong.  I didn't throw the scream/r or frenzy.

NOPE! What about the original purple monster or the monster brimstone both oil monsters. or the red/black pearl reactive. Or in my opinion the greatest monster of them all the green/black pearl this ball works on so many conditions its just stupid!

" both do have the same covers but different covers."

Lefty, you may want to revisit what you said.  I believe the Smash/R and Bruiser had the same PK18 cover but different cores.  I think the Smash/R had the core from the command zone arc and the bruiser is packing a quantum core.

Besides missing like 4 balls your also wrong in saying that the SmashR and Bruiser are the same, both do have the same covers but different cores.

This is funny stuff.

Actually you're both wrong. The Smash/R and the Bruiser had TWO major differences: the Bruiser was solid PK 18 cover that was polished, while the Smash/R had a combination of pearl and solid PK 18 that was finished with 800 grit matte.

AND their cores were totally different in appearance .... !!!!

Ah yes, the original monsters.  How could I forget...

The Smash/r and Bruiser had basically the same overall numbers.  I spoke with Tom Tomaras at Big B, he said "with the same surface prep, both balls will be VERY similar".  I am basing my thoughts on his statements.

it's a shame that there is only two balls left in the monster line----i get the feeling that this line will be discontinued in the near future. i'm sure their replacements will be just fine though. i had every ball in this line except for the bruiser and everyone did the job it was supposed to. they are high performance for little money.

BrunsRich - does that mean that the nemesis will act like the smash/r when dull, and the inferno if polished?

It acts like a Nemesis when dull, and a Nemesis when polished.

Definately a unique look out of the Brunswick line.

p.s.  Goliath looks VERY good.  I saw one polished in action, it definately hooks and doesn't quit.
