« on: May 20, 2008, 09:37:05 PM »
i have a tourney coming up and have to fly there. i am thinking about taking 3 balls in my 3 ball tote which will be under the 50 lbs requirement. the balls i have are

1. Brunswick Twisted Fury (Polished, drilled pin up)
2. Brunswick Ultra Zone (OOB Finish, drilled smooth arc)
3. Hammer Black Widow Solid (OOB Finish, drilled pin up)
4. Columbia 300 Resurgence (OOB Finish, drilled pin up)

Do you have any idea about the lane surface and oil pattern?

Id take the Twisted fury, ultra zone and the black widow. Ths will cover a variety off patterns, also I'd bring abralon pads or scotch brites in case they need a quick modification.

What about a spare ball?  If you are playing this tourny on a non THS you will probably find this to be your most important piece to bring.

for spares i just use my twisted and kill the hook. come off the back. i never liked caring an extra ball for that. rather just adjust for spares.

as for the lane condition, i dont know what it'll be like. most likely a sport shot but dont know much about it.

If you'll be on a sport pattern, that usually means less contrast from the middle of the lane to the outside where the THS hooks with ease. My opinion is to take something pretty dull (Resurgence at factory), something in between (Ultra Zone), and something just in case it's drier (Twisted Fury shiny). Good luck at the tournament.
