Power Groove Drilling
« on: August 10, 2004, 12:23:34 AM »
I will be retiring a couple of balls very soon.  I picked up a PG in a trade.  It was the purple and green one.  I heard that the PG are strong on the backend.  Is this true?

If so, then how could I drill it for use on dry, dry lanes?

The current drill pattern is:

pin around 2 from pap
cg wayyyyy right

Thanks,
Andrew

I would say the best would be to give it a lable drill. Or something near it with some thumb weight. This will still get down the lane but be very smooth on the backend.

I have a Zone X low diff drilled that way and I will be glade to e-mail it to you if you send me your e-mail address.

I'd concur with Big Bowling.  The PG was much stronger than it was/is advertised to be.  IMO - if your rev rate is 200+ and your speed is under 18mph at the foul line, this ball is too much for truly dry lanes.  My first drill was 4.5x6, the second was 6x6 - still more of a ball for medium and up than for dry.

Kill the back row (or maybe this should read "make your spares, dummy")
