Red Alert Special Edition
«
on:
May 01, 2009, 05:23:09 AM »
Hi guys, some weeks ago, I saw a Red Alert bowling ball but it was not the original one because the engraving said "Special Edition".
Now i wondered about the ball specs but did not find any information when searching the web. I used the term "Red Alert Special Edition".
Is it an overseas release or something?
Has anyone some precise information about the ball? Has it the same cover/core as the original one? What is so "special" about it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

The ball is an original... All Danger Zone Red Alerts have that engraving. check the spec sheet under "Reaction Characteristic" and you will see tht sentence starts with "The Special Edition". Also here's a link on the Big B website...9

I loved this ball. This was a great ball for it's time. If Brunswick want to update old stuff, this would be the one to bring back.
And I will second that they all said "Special Edition". The Red Alert was a special edition of the Danger Zone, hence the markings.

I threw my first sanctioned 300 with a Danger Zone Red Alert. That ball really takes me down memory lane.

hmm, but the ball i have seen, i think the engraving "special edition" was blue-ish?
And the ball itself wasn't that black, there where some swirls in it, i think...
So Is it a remake?

Brunswick did not remake the Special Edition.

How much you want for that NIB?
The red alert is probably the most versatile ball I've ever thrown. Ball is a beast.

I recently sold a 15lb NIB Sapphire Zone for $300 on ebay. Two weeks later a NIB DZ2 went for $110ish. So you never know what you might get.
