Revamping Arsenal, need some help!
« on: October 19, 2003, 10:20:26 AM »
Now that I'm on the UT bowling team, I am looking to improve and change my arsenal to better benefit me when we start traveling to tournaments. My profile states what I have now, and I am looking to add two balls to this list, and possibly a third if really necessary. I am definitely looking to purchase another Inferno as well as a Raging Inferno. My question is drilling related here. My current Inferno is a very weak, pin above bridge drilling, and combined with the number of games I've put on the ball, it makes small smooth arc into the pocket. With my new Inferno, I want a very aggressive drilling very a very angular backend. I would imagine a small axis hole needs to be added whatever the drilling may be. For the Raging Inferno, I want a drilling to compliment my Fuel on heavy oil. The other ball I was thinking of adding, but won't if not absolutely necessary is the Slayr for dryer conditions, although I think my original Inferno with its weak drilling will be sufficient. Please help me out here if all possible. I really appreciate all the help I've received through these forums, its been very beneficial to my game.

as far as the inferno for drier conditions, ah, i hope you have a lot of speed/loft/side turn to get the ball down the lane---the monster slayr would be a better bet.  are you a high rev player ? i'm not, so our drilling patterns will probably be different. good luck.

Based off of this information I think I'm gonna go with what Bob said, a more aggressively drilled Inferno and a Slayr. So with that being said, what drillings best compliment me with what I have now? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I guess I may not have covered it in my profile, but I have about average revs. Not a high rev player by any means, but I definitely don't fluff the ball either.
