Vintage Brunswick Tarheel Spare Ball (any value?)
« on: March 10, 2014, 04:02:26 PM »
I am thinking about replacing my current spare ball, and I have had this undrilled vintage Brunswick Tarheel spare ball in my closet for several years now. I've always wanted to just display it one day in a room along with my Steelers spare ball, my 1st 300 and 800 pieces. Now, I'm wondering if I should just put holes in it and use it. The Steelers spare has holes in it and that was back when I was using 16lb equipment, but I didn't know if the Tarheel ball had any value and I could pull a little coin for it online. I've seen some rare spare balls sell for some ungodly prices...so I'm hoping to hear drill and use it, sell it to highest bidder, or just keep it. If anyone can decipher the serial so that I can have an accurate month/year for the ball, that would be great too.

Put it for sale on Craig's List in North Carolina to see...

Hell, why not?  I'd do it.

(As a UK fan I certainly CANNOT endorse all the UNC crap  :P) but hey, drill it up and you'll have a unique vintage spare ball.  Put some blue or white grips in it too!

Hold off on putting it up for sale until about the third round of the NCAA tournament, then pull for Carolina (how did I ever say that, I'm a NC State grad!!).  --  JohnP
