Would a mo hole be a good fit for vintage rhino pro?
« on: September 22, 2015, 03:30:54 PM »
What are your honest thoughts? Ball specs are 15.2 2-3 pin and 2.7 top. My specs are 3 3/4 over and 1/4 up pap low track low rev and like to stay right. Was thinking this or double thumb. What are your thoughts?

If you like to stay right I figured the ball alone would allow you to do that. If you need to add a weight hole later you should have options.
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

If you like to stay right, I agree with Kidlost. If you're not sure on a ball drill it and throw it first before deciding on a weight hole

The Rhino Pro gets really good length and with polish goes even longer.  I would agree with the other posters.  You should wait until after you drill it to decide on hole placement in this case.

The ball has proven to be much flippier on the backend then I anticipated. I have struggled with surface - a lot of over/under with the ball - and mine hasn't seen much action given my Melee Jab and LT-48. Overall a disappointment for me.

I don't like the "motion hole" layout for lower track players.  In my opinion you'd be better served with a pin down layout and the "double thumb" positioning of the x-hole.

My PAP is 4 1/2 over, and I tried the motion hole layout and that particular ball quickly became a paperweight compared to other layouts that work better for me.

The Gold Rhino is a very good ball when it finds friction.  My advice is don't go crazy with layouts, and match up your surface and you'll be fine.

+1
The motion hole is best for high track players from the information I have seen/observed.

Interesting that you say that. Not to deviate from the original poster but my PAP is similar 4 1/2 over but also 1/2 up. I struggle during transition when I need to open up the lane because I have more forward roll and I've been considering possibly going the route of a motion hole on my next ball to see if it could give me that little extra help on the back

Thank you all for the feedback. After your opinions and a little more research I am likely going to use the double thumb or just something pretty simple. A well known amateur on brunswicks staff said he'd help me lay it out if need be.
