Deleted posts
« on: January 19, 2006, 05:58:41 AM »
I see the mods finally deleted my post asking about deleted posts that didn't seem to break any rules.

C'mon guys.  You're more mature than that aren't you?  Why couldn't you just answer a simple question instead of deleting a post you were tired of looking at?  There is absolutely no way my post in this section broke any rules.

Perhaps they thought you were going back to the Nixon tapes and quoting "Expleteve (deleted)?"

It does appear that BrunsHammer is gone, so I guess it's not that bad of a trade off.    We'll see if he keeps his word by never coming back.

It's funny, because I just updated my old post, hit the home page to see what other posts were new, and mine was gone?  I never broke ANY of the rules posted here.  http://www.ballreviews.com/moderators.asp  All I wanted was an explanation.  Does that seem like so much to ask?  If they thought one of the posts or posters pushed one of the rules, I could have accepted their reasoning.  I just wanted to find out what part of the posts were offensive.

His post in your thread likely was the turning of the worm that caused it (thread) to go bye-bye, although it does seem like the software should have allowed for just the disappearance of the user's post as soon as the user was gone.

I thought that as well, but BrunsHammer had a post in this thread.

http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=111497&ForumID=80&CategoryID=5

He's gone, but the post remains.  That implies that they could have done the same with my post, but didn't.  It sounds like someone doesn't like having their morals challenged.

Actually looking for another example, I found this.

Brunshammer has several posts in this tread which still exist.  Now I'm really confused.

Interesting once again.  BrunsHammer's posts have now been purged from the second link I provided.  I wonder why they weren't at first?

Well, unfortunately, the post about me being a moderator was a hoax.  I'm not sure how people would feel about me being one, but I can guarantee that I'd be more fair than what's happening now.

Hey "Ballreviews", if you really are an employee of the site, how about finding out what's going on with your site?  Posts that don't break any rules are disappearing.

That might explain a few things.

Unfortunately a fake TBU isn't as good as a fake Ben Dodson.

Still waiting.... and waiting... and waiting...

I know you guys are still out there.  Be a human being and answer a simple question.  Are you deleting posts that you don't like or agree with?  It certainly seems so.

Thanks for the advice, but if this site considers me trouble because I want a few answers and some consistent moderation, there's a serious problem, and it's not on my end.

I'll bet you won't be able to find a post with me swearing, outright or with symbols to sneak past the language filter, or bashing another user.  Well, maybe an ancient post before the current rules.

This site has two types of moderation.

1) If someone emails Ben with something out of line it gets taken care of.  I wish he would take a more active role in the site, but I'm not holding my breath.

2) The cloak and dagger stuff where posts that don't break any rules, but are unpleasant to some of the moderators, that disappear without warning or reason.

I stand by my signature.

Bump since Sixcranker had two posts that violated no rules deleted.  Who's making the rules and what exactly are the rules????

If something that looks harmless needs to be purged, at least tell us why so we don't do it again in the future.  Ever hear of the word consistency?

Nails,

No disrespect intended, but not neccesarily true. I posted 2 statements on the site of E-mails I had sent awhile back about the Sawbones tombstone post and another post by the same user that said another user had died, with no personal replies what so ever.

I am like you, I would like to know why some post are deleted and some post are left hanging out in clear violation of the rules. It just doesn't seem like there is any standard policy that is being followed.

I have been a member since 2001. I have bought and sold and traded equipment with many users here. I have personally met and became friends with many users here. I admit that this site was in need of some serious monitering, but as visitors and main stays of this site, we also should know whats going on.

This site is owned by whoever and is run by whoever and they can do what they want with it, but they also need to realize that without our support, there is no site, period. Sorry for the hijack.
