Anyone heard from user Iketown300 lately?
« on: October 20, 2004, 01:06:58 AM »
I have done serveral great deals with him but have not been able to reach him for several days. We both shipped balls out to each other on 10/13 and he has received his (I tracked it) and I still don't have mine. The tracking number he gave me shows the package has been in one location for 6 days. Its obvious he shipped it out but I need his assistance to call fed ex to find out whats going on. I have called them twice and got nothing..

Just curious if anyone has had any contact with him the past couple of days..

Wonder what made this IKE guy get messed up! A while back GOOD people were saying fantastic things about him ..
http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=61128&ForumID=71&CategoryID=5

Now suddenly he has two problem deals one after the other.

jkiser01 (sorry I misspelled before) .. what ball were you expecting from Ike .. might be interesting to post .. see if anyone else knows of that ball .. maybe Ike is double dealing .. just curious!

thanks g_thing for the comments. I agree, a deal is not COMPLETED for me until I know the other person has their ball in hand.

On a side note, I STILL have not heard from Iketown300 so at this point I am going to tell everyone on this site DO NOT DEAL with this user. He has read my messages and emails, I know that. His father sent me a message last night saying Ike had been bsuy with bowling and school and that he "should" have time to get back with me today.. What kind of crap is that.. That is all NOT my problem. I am not asking for an hour of his time, I need him to take 5 minutes to call fed ex and tell them its OK for me to file a claim on my lost ball. I don't think thats asking that much..

Come on IKE, lets get this taken care of ASAP.. I am tired of waiting to hear from you. I sent my ball to you in good faith and tracked it so I know you have it..

Jim, sent you a message as i have finally got a moment of time to come online.  I did NOT read your messages until today and your email today.  My dad comes on br.com and reads my messages and looks through the site but never handles any of my deals or anything to do with one.  The messages were shown read cause in fact he read them not me.  He called me last night when i was at work and told me about this and so I am messaging you right now.  I sent you a message about this so just let me know.

UPDATE: I still do NOT have the ball and I am having a very hard time dealing with fed ex as the recipient. I was going to try to take care of this on my end, but its becoming way to much trouble. I still feel as if its the shipper/buyers responsibility to make sure the item is delivered to the recipient before the deal can be considered COMPLETE, but was trying to help ike out because he has school work (and we have done multiple deals in the past) and bowling but this whole thing has worn me down. Iketwown had contacted me a few days ago stating he would call fedex last Monday am but don't really know what they told him. The fed ex person today told me there where no notes in the file stating the shipper had ever called them. I have no clue how accurate there records are as far as that goes.

I have sent iketwown300 a message stating that he should go ahead and pay me for the ball and file the claim himself. Fed ex people have been telling me the normal procedure is for the SHIPPER to file the claim, NOT the recipient. I have yet to hear back from iketwown on this.

As a very reputable seller/buyer on this forum, I have in the past had this happen one other time and I as the seller and shipper of the item, went ahead and paid the buyer and filed the claim myself and received the funds back from the shipping company in approx 2 weeks after the claim was filed.

I am hoping iketown300 will agree to this request. This original deal was a one for one trade, plus $8 (for shipping) and he already has his ball.

I will keep everyone updated. This has been a nightmare. Talking to fed ex everyday on the phone and can't get a straight answer as to where the package is and what to do to get the claim process started..

IKE .. what bothers me about this .. you had enough time TO MAKE THE DEAL .. now suddenly you HAVE NO TIME! You were smart enough to MAKE THE DEAL there's NO REASON why you shouldn't do the right thing to finalize the deal with JKISER .. get his ball back to him .. PAY him .. whatever it takes to clear it up. YOU MADE A DEAL AND IT's NOT COMPLETE .. FINISH IT! Get it OVER WITH!

Joe,

I agree.. All I want is the ball he traded me or the money for the ball he got from me, thats IT!! Nothing more, nothing less..

Iketown300, please answer me messages. I know someone has read them.. I am trying really hard to give you the "benefit of the doubt" because we have done so many deals in the past, but my patience is getting very thin..

I also had enough time before to make the deal that happened awhile ago before I got into the full blown schedule of school, work and bowling 3 nights a week.

UPDATE: Just for kicks I tracked the package a few seconds ago and it states:

 Oct 28, 2004   4:34 AM

 On FedEx vehicle for delivery

 IRVING, TX

I guess fed ex mysteriously found the package after it was lost 12 days ago. I won't believe it until its in my hands. Lets see what happens.

I am just wondering how many "pieces" the ball will be in..

I will keep everyone updated on this continuing saga..

How could i show "ignorance and lag"  if i had no idea of him not having his ball.  As soon as i did find out i asked jim what he needed me to do, call fedex and send him an email about some info.  Ask him and he will tell you i did so.  I don't blame that he is mad but it's not like i didn't ship the ball.  He knows each and every time we do a deal we both come through.  All our previous deals took place during the summer and such when I was not working as much or going to school at all and also bowled only 1 league during the summer season.  We made the deal awhile back and almost since then i have been working everyday, college 4 days a week and bowling 3 days.  There is no days ahead that will be as hectic as college is.  Not only do you have to go for so long you have to study and do hours on end of homework whereas when you get a job, you work 9-5, 8-4 etc and come home free to do whatever you want.  Not the case with college.  How can I have had time when all I did was get up go to school and right after school go to bowling league or work?

Ike .. looks like you have enough on your table .. school is much more important then TRADING BOWLING BALLS! You never know WHEN a deal is going to have problems. If you don't have the time to stay with a deal you enter into .. then best you not make any! From what Jim reports it APPEARS that settlement is on the horizon. Glad to see it's heading in the right direction . Lots of luck with the SCHOOL! IT AIN'T EASY!!

Well I would have enough time but a fellow employee had a death in the family and took off a week and I am the only one capable of doing every position at the bowling alley, except bartending for age reasons, and have been called to work everyday that she has not been there.  It's not what GTHING ASSUMES, that i just made a deal and left jim high and dry.  Jim should know this and hopefully he told gthing that me and jim have done at least 5-7 deals before and everything ran smooth as silk and we both made sure things were done on both sides.  But of course I would expect nothing else than for gthing to automatically defend jim cause he is a good friend, but gthing has gotten way too out of hand with his ridiculous accusations.  If anyone should have said anything at all remotely like that it should have been Jim, but again it wasn't my fault that fedex lost the package.  But i totally understand where jim is coming from, i would get upset with fedex too if they lost a package.
