AVOID JRGRIFF759 LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
« on: March 27, 2007, 03:12:39 PM »
Basically, he agreed to sell me a ball for $60, and comes back trying to haggle $5 more bucks out of my wallet not an hour later saying someone ofered $5 more after he agreed to sell it to me.

He has a thread in the for sale forum with several balls. I have wanted to try out a radical inferno for a while, he had one in 14#, so I offered to buy it. Now, the thread has been relatively stagnant for some time, so I made an offer for his asking price, $50.00 US, shipped. He wanted $60 total to cover shipping and I said sure, what's your paypal address. He says great, my address is blahblablah... not an HOUR LATER, he sends me some BS PM starting off saying I hadn't paid him yet (SORRY BUD, SOME OF US ARE AT WORK AT NOON ON TUESDAY!) and someone offered to pay $65 for it shipped. 5 bucks more.

Come on, dude. no one posted crap about the ball in SOME TIME, I agree to buy it at $60, then all the sudden you get a buyer for *gasp* $15 shipping and the $50 for the ball? If you're willing to throw this kind of BS in my face for $5... that you are willing to renig on a sale for FIVE FREAKING DOLLARS... you have some ethical issues to work out.

I hope whoever is sending you the extra $5 is happy with the ball. I will just be content to post the entire contents of our PMs, with time stamps, showing how much of a bum you are.

MY FIRST PM --------------------

Will you do $50 shipped to 76010? If so, I will paypal you as soon as you say yes.

Its going to cost me about $15 to ship to you in Texas from NY. The best I can do is like $60 shipped.

Let me know if you are still interested. Thanks for the reply.

MY REPLY -----------------------

done deal. $60? what's your paypal address?

I see you haven't sent over the paypal stuff yet......

I just got offered $65 shipped..........I know you offered $60 first.......If you want to match the offer.....I will accept yours....if you don't want to pay the $65 shipped, I am going to have to take the other offer.......and I appreciate your interest in the ball.
Thanks.

   Jeff

MY REPLY ---------------------

Through PMs, you have already sold it to me for $60. I am not going to 'match' the price. Consider the deal off, and I will be posting this and our other PMs in the buyer/seller feedback forum as well as the Brunswick forum.

Thanks for your interest in selling me the ball.

All he did was come on here and say he did was "right for him"... He obviously thinks that was an acceptable thing to do.. IMO, that still does not make things right..

The bottom line is this. If thats how he does business, I will not deal with him, thats for sure..

why is communication so difficult?  and why is honesty twice as difficult?

I ALWAYS leave the option open with the seller.  If he/she has a better offer than what we've discussed, I understand.  I'm also grateful if the seller decides to turn down other offers and agree to do business with me.  In turn, my desire to purchase the ball doesn't change, therefore I immediately pay (with the understanding of paypal fees).  The foundation is set and the chances of buying/selling with that individual increases twofold!  You'll probably get first considerations towards another item.  Very few I do business with and it's because they handle/conduct themselves accordingly.

Wish many shared the same 'code of ethics'

I agree if you have not already AGREED to a deal with another user. If I have a ball listed for $75 shipped and someone PM's me and that person offers me $70 and I ACCEPT thier offer, then we have a PENDING deal and I will send them a PM right back and ask how they want to pay and get all the details. I will also give them 24 hours to respond. If after 24 hours, they have not responded, I would offer the ball to the second person that responded and so on. This is regardless when the offers where.

Thats just how I conduct business here..
