has anyone dealt with marsden74311?
« on: December 30, 2008, 12:35:54 AM »
We started a deal for me to buy his Lane 1 Silver Diamond before thanksgiving...and due to work/holidays/family illnesses, I still haven't gotten the ball.

At this point...I'm looking for some peace of mind that he's a standup guy and the deal will get done.

Did you pay for the ball? If so, and its been since Thanksgiving I would think something is very fishy..

He is NOT a standup person. Look back in threads dating to almost a year ago, if not more. You will find where someone claimed he died, then when called out, suddenly he was not so dead. Multiple times has he been involved with deals that just did not go right. Personaly, if you have his name, address, etc, I would give him one more chance, state if no response is given, you are going to assume has not and is not going to complete his end of the deal which will force you to get the local police involved. Since I believe someone did this last year, I do not thik they are going to like to go back to him again for the same reason. Bet you that gets him to answer.

Also, don't let him say I will do something and leave it open ended. Tell him if you do not have a working tracking number by X date, you are going to call the police. Anyone can send you a tracking number and just one number off makes it bogus and he can say, oops, thats what I had and now I do not know where the number is and that gives him more time to figure out what to do.

Find out if the money order has been cashed. Get a copy of when it was cashed, call his local police, send them a fax of the money order showing it has been cashed and any corrspondence you have with him about the deal. taking money over state lines (I assume) becomes a Federal offense among about 5 other items. They will want as much info as possible...

Quite frankly, this is why we need to keep a list of bad users as a sticky somewhere so new people do not get burned from people who did this, hide, then come back and most people have forgotten about this and the user burns someone again.

Funny...but for some reason I kept the receipt for the money in my wallet...instead of throwing it in my pile of filing stuff on my desk.

I agree about the sticky...

This is the first deal I've ever had issues with....everyone I've ever dealt with on here are great people.

First off,
I have a very Demanding Job.
Second the cops have never or wil lnever need to get involved. Now yes i admit i have some issues on shipping, but everyone who ever had a problem with my dealings i have rectified and made it right by them. The ball will be getting shipped out tomorrow, and he will have his tracking number. I have been dealing with family illness for a little while now and you would think you guys would have a little more class then that.
I haven't snowballed him as i have been in contact with him, quite frequently.
You guys can think what you want, as you will anyway, just don't say things that aren't true.
Again i apologize that the shipping has been so delayed, i just can't be everywhere at once.

Assuming you don't even live close to one of these places, it takes less than an hour out of one day to drive to The UPS Store, FedEx/Kinko's, Office Depot, Bob's Pack 'n' Ship, or any place like that and send a ball.  I'm getting tired of hearing excuse after excuse on this forum for why somebody can't ship a ball.  You have a business transaction and an obligation to complete it in a timely fashion -- don't spend four weeks dicking around before doing it.  Whatever is going on, you can afford to take less than one hour out of the 672 hours in four weeks to ship the package.

Don't get involved in a business transaction if you have family illness.  Don't blame your job if the family illness excuse doesn't fly.  Bottom line don't do business that's shady.

He's not a good guy to deal with. We agreed on trading balls and for a few weeks he came up with excuses as to why he couldn't ship the ball. Stay away.

Marsden,

You are a kid and your TRACK RECORD shows this is what you do with every transaction. Maybe I would believe any of this, but your history leads us to believe otherwise. As others have said, if you cannot complete your end of the deal, you should have either sent the money back or sent the ball, end of story.
As for class, how classy was it to try to make us believe last year you were dead?

TGS, until you receive your ball and it is in the condition stated, I would keep this at the top so nobody else gets hammered by him.
