I was fooled...sorry guys TMaxx11 is a deadbeat
« on: February 13, 2004, 07:14:24 AM »
FOr those of you that I swayed into believing he was a good kid I apologize. As you may or may not recall I entered into a deal with this guy (Chris Lawrence) where I was to get a like new Traxxas TMaxx radio control monster truck. In return he was getting a NIB INferno, NIB Frenzy, used Mutant, 6 inserts, 3 slugs and a towel.

I sent the stuff out and was then informed that he no longer wanted to do the trade because he had sold the truck to somoen else on here....speak up if this was you....PLEASE!!!

Well he got the stuff and then agreed to send it back with the shipping fees I had incurred reimbursed. But he wnated to swap out the Frenzy for a Smash/R he had. I said OK.

Well he allegedly got into a car accident and was sitting in the hospital. I sent emails and they were answered by his "mom" and she said that she would send the balls back to me...that was over 3 weeks ago. I inquired several more times about the where abouts of my equipment and I have gotten nothing.

Now his address is the same as the old Matt Wagar that hosed everyone on here....does anyone have the phone number that was posted before for Wagar??? My package was signed for by what looks to be Joann Wagar but I cannot get a phone number based on his address. According to my sources his address does not exist.

If anyone could help me out here I'd appreciate it....please help me keep this at the top!!!

Called and spoke with Mom this morning. Mom is NOT a happy camper. It seems that he swapped out the balls I sold him with 3 others and then sealed the box back up. He took the box to mom and said that I had changed my mind on the deal and I was going to send $$$ to have them returned.

Pissed off parents can often get you the pound of flesh and $$ back...

quote:

He traded the Raging for the Executioner and  also traded off the Mutant.  Gee, that's fewncing stolen merchandise isn't it? And since it is across state lines that almost makes it a felony...right?

Certainly there are some additional state charges that would apply.  You would have to check the State Penal Code to determine what applies in Michigan.  At the federal level, I am not sure that a dollar amount is required to raise it to the felony level...many offenses that would be in-state misdemeanors become federal felonies the moment the offense crossed state lines.

quote:
What about using an assumed name and email address? I dealt with TMaxx11, not xxxpipologyxxx. I shipped the balls to Chris Lawrence, not Matt Wagar.

Strictly speaking, probably no offense there unless he had used a Credit Card in another name.  Otherwise, I can order from you and have you send to Jane Doe with no infraction.

quote:
I was also given the name of his ball driller so I think that this situation would be something he would be interested in knowing...don't you think???

Unless the ball driller is in on the scam also...but a follow-up call might at least let him know of the possibility of a criminal investigation that may ensue

Doug,

Just out of curiosity, did Mom tell you the age of her little felon?

Hello Doug
I am sorry to hear this is happen to you.
I see you are trying to do the right thing by giving the kid a chance to make up for his bad decision.
Well, I would personally would have already called the police department, like I did with Hookmonster. He is now being brought up on charges. I keep in contact with the Officer working the case weekly.
Contact the police dept and ask if they have a internet crime div. most dept's do by now.
Then give him all the info you have and once an officer visits this kid and his family, then he will grap in his pants and really be scared.I also wrote a posting for all the people that was scammed by Hookmonster to send me all the info of money and balls that was shipped to him. The officer found 31 balls that this person stoled from people on our website. AlI but 2 of the reported balls have been found.
Then if the dist attorney thinks the case is a strong one he should move forward and aleast charge this kid so he will have alot to think about.
JUst my little bit of info for you Doug and good luck !!

If you knock down 10 pins always smile,no matter how they fell. An X on the 1st ball is 1 step closer to 300.

TMaxx11 Bleed after he screwed me!  No wonder the
little laid changed His Toon after talking to me like that,
he's only 14 years old and new this Navy Vet. was coming
to pay him a visit.  Did you ask Her what the Hell she's

Doug,

I really don't mean to bust your chops, but...

What were you thinking, getting into a deal of that size with a 14 year old?

I don't care what Leftside says, it's just crazy to get into a deal for more than twenty bucks with someone who a) has no real money of his own, and b) may have to ask his mommy or daddy if it's okay to trade his stuff.

Don't deal with minors, people.  It's just common sense.

I think it's fairly evident by Doug's previous posts that he had no idea this kid was only 14.  I'm pretty sure he was flat out taken.

Hamster is correct...I was told by this guy that he just moved into the house and since he moved into the "city" he had no room to run his radio control truck anymore so he was going to concentrate on his bowling. So I had no idea the kid was only 14.

And Jimmy I would tend to agree with you but mom took delivery of the package...she signed the UPS board for it :-) I had an idea that he might have been a kid so I required an adult signature. Now Mom is involved because her name is on the paper.

No return call from Mom as promised yuesterday so I guess it's another call later today.

Hope you can get his mother to make it right.

Well Dustin it looks like I am getting money instead of balls...his mom called yesterday but I didnt get to return her call.

I did get an email from matt today asking me to call but when I did it was busy and I didn't try again.

As far as I know he doesnt have any of the balls I traded him anymore...one of his buddies has the Mutant, another guy on here bought the Raging Inferno but I dont know what happened to the Frenzy.

Oh well...live and learn....

What ever happened Doug?

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Well LEftside things are progressing but slowly. I called again yesterday and got Mom on the phone again. Matt was not there of course but he did email me 2x yesterday offering a deal of sorts to square it up.

I'll take his offering of $220 plus a Charcoal Executioner and the Inserts/slugs back.

Now that Mom knows the truth about what's going on I think it's going to get resolved.

I'll keep you all posted.
