I was fooled...sorry guys TMaxx11 is a deadbeat
« on: February 13, 2004, 07:14:24 AM »
FOr those of you that I swayed into believing he was a good kid I apologize. As you may or may not recall I entered into a deal with this guy (Chris Lawrence) where I was to get a like new Traxxas TMaxx radio control monster truck. In return he was getting a NIB INferno, NIB Frenzy, used Mutant, 6 inserts, 3 slugs and a towel.

I sent the stuff out and was then informed that he no longer wanted to do the trade because he had sold the truck to somoen else on here....speak up if this was you....PLEASE!!!

Well he got the stuff and then agreed to send it back with the shipping fees I had incurred reimbursed. But he wnated to swap out the Frenzy for a Smash/R he had. I said OK.

Well he allegedly got into a car accident and was sitting in the hospital. I sent emails and they were answered by his "mom" and she said that she would send the balls back to me...that was over 3 weeks ago. I inquired several more times about the where abouts of my equipment and I have gotten nothing.

Now his address is the same as the old Matt Wagar that hosed everyone on here....does anyone have the phone number that was posted before for Wagar??? My package was signed for by what looks to be Joann Wagar but I cannot get a phone number based on his address. According to my sources his address does not exist.

If anyone could help me out here I'd appreciate it....please help me keep this at the top!!!

Maybe he hasn't scammed the Charcoal from someone else yet...

(yes, at this point I AM that cynical and skeptical that the kid will follow through on anything...)

If I remember correctly the last time he pulled this crap some of the guys got reimbursed but Shaggy still got screwed out of a new ball.  I think mom & dad just do enough to get him out of hot water, not take care of all of his ripoffs.

This "child" and his parents have had more than ample opportunity, and time, to "settle up" on this situation, as well as others in the past, IMHO.

Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately I have not been involved in any dealings with them. Therefore I can not press charges, which should be done by all that have been "taken, ripped-off, etc." by him, and his parents (since he is a minor). There is internet fraud, most likely mail fraud, and a host of other charges that are most likely applicable as well.

This nonsense will not stop until more people step up and prosecute. If you look at all the posts about "this bad deal, that bad deal", how many were actually prosecuted? What message is that? If there were more people willing to "stand up" and "go after" these "thieves", maybe a message would be sent that it isn't worth the effort to "steal" from someone on this site. As it is now, it looks to a "newcomer" that ther may be "easy pickings" here. IMHO

I understand he's a minor, but so are a LOT of the people that the music industry is going after for downloading music.  So what difference does age make when it comes to the internet?

By the way tmaxx, nice profile.
Doesn't look like any of these events have humbled you at all.

Yeah, he sounds contrite and reformed in that profile.  Sure sounds like he's bragging that he ripped off Doug and others too.  I always believe the old saying, what goes around comes around.

After reading that profile, methinks that there is some spoofing going on...gee, that has never been known to occur on this site

I'd sure be interested in who his friends are on this site.  With all the problems we've had with him stealing every chance he got, no one volunteered any information about him????  What about it Stormrox, covering for a friend.

BTW, how about squaring up with Shaggy.  Seems like only the people that get legal action started get reimbursed.

First time could have been a mistake, 2d time had to have been deliberate.

OK Matt or Chris or whatever your real name is....the Executioner, inserts, slug and towel get returned aslong with the $220 we agreed on before. Better yet why not get your Mom to set up a Paypal account and send me the $220 that way so it is quick and painless?

I should go after you for the extra grief you have caused me along with phone calls to Michigan...you have my phone nmber, why don't you call me for a change? What about email? The way I see it, you owe me...I am not even charging you for the shipping to get the balls to you...or the extra money I ahd to put out to make the guy happy that owned the Mutant. The truck you were going to trade was to be his....I ended up drilling him another ball that I had to pay for. Also I had to pay for the Raging Inferno and the Frenzy. The money from the sale of the truck was to pay for those balls but since I NEVER GOT ANYTHING FROM YOU I had to pay the bill.

I'll be home all night on Monday...call me 570-553-0165

Yes he does. I have done almost 2 transactions now with stormrox, and he does live in Canada, and goes to Michigan to bowl.

Since Doug, Shaggy and a few others have shown great restraint so far in NOT proceeding with legal action, maybe someone should mention to this "child" and his mother, that she is LEGALLY responsible. Now, she too can end up with a conviction, and criminal record, since not only as a parent, but aware of the "scam/theft, internet fraud" she is an accomplice.

And with the amounts of money involved, and number of actual "victims"....well, I am sure legal authorities will jump on this one.

It still amazes me that there are SO many that refuse to use the legal system to rightfully protect themselves, and OTHERS. Until this family is prosecuted, it appears that others down the road may well become victims as well.

Just my worthless 2 cents.
