mutant man
« on: March 14, 2004, 12:26:21 AM »
well i traded mutant man that fear factor that he has up for sale or trade.  i sent him out the ball last monday and he said he would send out the balls he trade too.  well he had some trouble getting to the post office.  thats cool i can understand.  ive had troubles getting a ball out because of family reasons before.  well its sunday here the balls should be here any time.  well i just seen that he is trying to get rid of the ball already.  this worries me a little because if he trades it off and i never get my balls he owes me then he can say he never recieved mine.  i just wanted some feedback on if you know him and i would just ask that people hold of on the dealing with him on this ball untill i recieve my balls he owes me.  i will update if i recieve balls.  actually i will update every day till i get something.  thank you for your time.

What is the ball you sent him? You're indicating that you decided a TRADE with him .. you sent out your ball and he RECEIVED it already .. is trying to deal with that ball and the balls you were expecting in TRADE have NOT YET been received! That doesn't sound TOO GOOD! When did he RECEIVE your ball? Why would he being DEALING for it so quickly? I can understand your concern! Please state what the ball was that you sent HIM!

Joe..and to all others concerened.  If you read my post i stated just looking to see if i get any good offers.  Im not just trying to get rid of it...the reason im not that interested is because the pin i was told was on the ball was incorrect...which isnt a big deal im not going to cry over spilled milk, so i was just seeing what kind of offers i could get.

There have been a ton of bad dealings recently, but I say give this guy a shot.  He hasn't run off, or changed names, and he's given a pretty valid reason for the delay.  UPS doesn't deliver on Sundays, D-U-H.  Has anyone ever reported a bad dealing with this guy before?  Give it another couple days before you go crazy.

I'm in the middle of a deal with PerfectStorm that's been going on for probably over a month now.  I sent him a Super Charge and a Time Zone, both of which I'm pretty sure have been traded away already (I'm positive the Time Zone has, lol, I sent it straight to the guy he traded it to), and I have yet to receive anything, BUT, that's what we agreed on.  I made a request, and he's been looking for it.  No one has reported a bad dealing with him, so I'm not worried in the LEAST.  The communication has been excellent, and unless it's 2010 before I get a ball, I'm not gonna say another word.  I held up my end, I have the utmost confidence he's holding up his.

My point is, give the guy a couple more days.  Again, UPS doesn't deliver on Sundays, so you shouldn't have even posted anything until tomorrow.  Also, he stated that you gave him an incorrect pin, which means he could have made a big post on here about you trying to scam him or something.  The guy's being upfront and cool about it, chill.

for one thing hamsterman i didnt give him an incorect pin.  i told him what the box that the ball came in said the pin was, and another thing he sent this usps.  if i would just have a tracking number this woudl have never happend.  what scared me a lil was that i havenet recevied the balls owed to me and he is already trying to sell the ball i traded him.  so ham i dont think i over reacted.  ive seen alot of scams from people on this forum and i just wanted some info.  if you read i just asked that no one make a finalized deal with him till i post that i recieved the balls he owed me.  thanks for you time

Ok, sending it by USPS was DUMB.  UPS or Fedex should be mandatory, and tracking numbers should be given quickly.  I still think you should have waited a few more days though, being that however it was shipped, it wouldn't have gotten to you today in any case.  I have to give mutant man credit for sticking around, that earns him some respect, but USPS?  Honestly, snail mail's a bad idea for anything more than letters.  UPS has a SERIOUS reputation for getting stuff to you as quickly as possible in great shape, you (mutant man) shouldn't squabble over a few bucks.  What pin length was on the box, and what was the actual pin of the ball?  Doug Sterner sent me a ball in a trade, and he actually crossed out the pin that was on the box and wrote down the actual EXACT pin length before he shipped it to me.

I'm not condemning anyone .. or for that matter .. phrasing anyone. But HAM your deal was all AGREED UPON .. you are waiting because it was AGREED UPON .. that doesn't apply here.

From what I hear MM has done deals before .. did he use USPS then also? How could any buyer be happy with that? Then NM sends his ball to get there FAST .. then sees it being RESOLD and hasn't seen anything from the trade on his ball .. don't you think he should be concerned? What does NM do if the ball is sold and he still has nothing?

I don't think NM did WRONG .. in fact I probable would have reacted the SAME WAY! Someone tells me they had problems and couldn't get the balls to delivery, yet he had time to construct deals on the received ball?

I take NO EXCEPTION to the action taking by NM who stood up to his end of the DEAL! I wouldn't want to see my ball sold by the guy I'm dealing with and still NOT have the exchange ball in my HANDS!

I agree Joe, but the only thing is that in any case, if mutant man sent the ball on Wednesday, there is no way possible the ball he shipped could have reached newmanadam before Monday or Tuesday, so posting that he hasn't received the ball seems a little like jumping the gun.  Being that the pin was a misunderstanding, can you see why mutant man posted it for sale or trade?  He seemed a little reluctant about it too.  I know a good scammer would know all the tricks, but I still think it's too early to be making assumptions and giving the guy a bad rep.  Newmanadam has been fairly cordial about it though, and I think his concerns are partially founded.  I also think he has a right to want to know more about the guy, but he might have wanted to check his rep BEFORE making the deal.  I also still think mutant man should have sent UPS, BUT I believe that newmanadam will receive the package soon and everything will be just peachy.  Speaking of peachy, where has pchee been?

Not too long ago I read where PCHEE teamed up with another from BR and won FIRST PLACE in a tournament. It seems he's still in the bowling game .. I try to follow most of the posts here .. but I haven't seen anything from him. I do sort of miss his CRAZY STORIES .. always came up with something that put a smile on your face and a desire to comment on .. I guess he doesn't have the time any more .. always hoped that he realizes that he's MISSED!

NOTE: My apologies to NM for straying from his post!

Mutant Man sold me a pair of shoes a while back.  He seems like a good dude.  Give him a bit more time.  I don't remember if he sent my shoes by UPS or USPS, but not everyone has a UPS shipper close to them.  I do agree that stuff should be sent UPS and a tracking number should be sent as quickly as possible, if possible.  To me, he does not seem that upset about the wrong pin distance, but it was a bit irresponsible of the seller not to measure it before a deal was made.  Or maybe the seller was doing whatever it took to get rid of it or get what MM had.  Just my thoughts....

NEWMANADAN hasn't come back on this topic and indicated that the ball(s) have been delivered and today is TUESDAY!

My only comment on this is related to the PIN .. from what I recall reading on this (and I know none of the individuals involved) but I thought I read that NEWMAN gave the box that he received the ball in and had quoted the PIN placement as it was on THAT BOX. Again how anyone can take exception to that is BEYOND ME!

I'd like to know if MUTANT MAN ever got the balls to NEW MAN or are they STILL IN TRANSIT?

Joe, as far as the pin goes, newman did quote me the wrong pin. Box said 2.5-3 (the pin is just a hare over 2.5) and the box said 3-4, and newman did admit he quoted the wrong pin, so as you can imagine a drilling that i wanted to have with a 3-4 inch pin can't be done on a 2.5 inch pin.  As for the balls not sure if they are there yet (have not talked to newman today) but they will be if not already.
