SO, after 3 days of comunications with him & a deal that was confirmed twice, he pulls out of the deal 12 hours before shipment. I had 2 other deals in the works, but told them I couldn't do it since I was dealing with Rudy. They both since have found other deals. I will list the communications & you be the judge, but I just wanted to let everyone know, he's the kind of young guy that can by iffy trading with.

First message:

We agreed to trade & that I would pay him back for shipping since I was getting a little "better end of the deal" & the $$ should offset it.I then asked if he accepted Paypal & he responded:

You would have to front the $$ for the shipping, but I would be sure to send enough along with my ball to cover it.

I've found that's usually the safest way to do ball trades on here, to both send at the same time & make sure you get each other the tracking numbers on the same day. That way if one doesn't send a tracking number in a day or so, you can put the shipment on hold.

Let me know if you think that would work & we can swap addresses & plan on shipping tomorrow or friday.

At this point he sent me a message saying he now was wondering if I could include a little more $$ for redrilling & such. Here was my response:

Mind you, all of this info was in the original trade thread, but I responded anyway.

Used it for Medium conditions with good backends, that's where it really excelled.

Very few small scratches, nothing more than expected for 30 games & nothing that wont come out with a light resurfacing. I would actually reccommend a little bit of polish to bring the shine back.

Only 30 games on it.

Moral of the story, people can really jerk you around. Deal with him with caution.

Oh, and I still have that igniter available if anyone is intrested.

I don't think because he's a kid he should warrant any special consideration. He is trying to make grown up deals, and I've treated him as I would anyone who backed out of a deal like this.

Mind you I've never said he's a bad person. I just was saying to deal with caution.

It's not that I'm generally strapped for cash, we've hit some hard times & I just don't have recreation money available. I was just putting my ball up for a trade, he approached me, I offered to cover shipping & then some, he strung me along, then backed out. I wasn't looking to deal with a child, I just wanted to trade my Igniter since it's a ball that just wasn't working out for me.

The most telling comment comes from another site, as posted by the powers that be from the center from whence Jr. claims as home...

Revs Jr is a 14 year old second year junior bowler. Revs Jr averages [xxx] in our Junior Bowling Program at Rebelanes. He works part time at Rebelanes as a Birthday Party Host and has been granted considerable priveleges by the ownership at Rebelanes to better his game and try to become a better bowler. However, as can be seen sometimes youthful enthusiasm can be over taken by one's mouth.

Caution must be used in dealing with any transaction here, but issues like Bjaardker had to deal with are why dealing with minors is overly risky.

Isn't it amazing about the people that change names. It is usually those that have been the problem parties in deals/transactions, and mostly newer members.
Hmmmm, don't ever remember people like Bones, Hose, Michelle, Doug, or a host of other fantastic regulars changing names. Unless of course it was for some good natured kidding
