The Messenger Titanium Pearl is Columbia's newest addition to the
Messenger family. The ball features the same core, with Columbia's Titanium
ceramic core, as the original Messenger Titanium with a pearlized Super-Flex
shell. The pearlized shell creates more length to get through the heads
easily with a sharper turn at the break point for more back end reaction.
The Messenger Ti Pearl has a medium-low Rg (2.527) and the differential Rg
is .043, which creates 4-5 inches of flare. The Messenger Titanium Pearl is
Black/Gold multi-color pearl with peach engraving. The available weights are
12-16 lbs.

This ball is everything you would expect from a pearlized TiMessenger.  The original got good length and one of the hardest and strongest backend flips in the game.  This one gets better than average length, snaps real hard in the back and goes into a nice strong roll once it finishes the turn.  A great addition to the Columbia line.

Drilled mine with a 4x4, no extra hole needed. Much cleaner and longer in the front of the lane than the original Ti/Messenger. This ball revs up so strongly in the pines and backend, and just makes a sharp flip and the carry is amazing, definitely throwing pins all over the place. Without a doubt, this ball will be in my bag. Excellent ball for the money.

Very nice bowling product.  From start to finish I like this ball.  It is a good color, and a great preformer.  This is a must have ball for the Columbia users.  This ball is like nothing else in Columbia's line.  It has great length good recovery and it hits great even when you tug it up the oil line.  Very impressive for a ball in the midpriced range.  The TI Pearl will be in Columbia's line for some time I predict.

Good looking ball but for the messenger line up I thought it had way too much flip. It did have a nice push and hit like a truck, a good wet-dry ball but toning the cover is a must.

I Bowl in an old wood house on a second shift league. The heads tend to be fried and the backends move. In other words...the lanes our dry. I through average speed with above average hand. I needed a ball that could clear the heads and give me a good angle of entry. My pearl is drilled for length. This ball glides as easily through the heads as any ball I have seen. If there is no carrydown I get a strong skid flip reaction, however if this ball sniffs oil if doesn't move. A good ball for drier conditions or for a swing shot when the backends are flying. If you have a lot of carrydown don't expect much. I give it a 9 on dry conditions

bowler stats

speed-average

revolutions-above average

pap-over 5 1/4 up 3/8

drilled the ball

pin out 3 1/2"

pin to pap-5"

cg to pap-3 1/2"

weight hole 2" below pap

shot bowled on

synthetic very wet/dry

wood tapered(christmas tree) thats get carry down

this is my favortite drilling and have put it on many balls

first off- not to hard to get this ball thru the heads, but once you do-it has a very angular backend. One of the strongest out there(for backend-not total hook).

This ball does squirt on the juice, so it not the number one go to ball on fresh oily lanes(unless the backends ar squeky clean) and if they are you may get the over-under thing going on.

versitility is not to bad and the price is very good. If a bolwer wants to get as much ball as they can for the money, the messenger line is tops out there.

Against what everyone else is saying this ball is no different than the original Messenger Titanium.  It even has the same coverstock (Super-Flex).  It is an awesome ball but if you have the original...it is not worth buying the pearl.  Again, if you do not have the original Titanium this is a great ball...but if you do it is a waste of money to purchase this ball...because they are so similar.  I tried several variations of the 10:30 drillings and a few leverage drillings and the ball was very accepting to different drillings (just like the original Titanium).  I tried this ball on various lane conditions.  Your traditional wet/dry and the infamous "long oil" condition.  I was overall impressed with this ball...but too similar to the original.  I am starting to feel like Columbia is going to juice whatever they can out of the messenger line...which is good if there are some significant changes.

Good Luck and Good Bowling!

i got my ti pearl at a 1-2" pin placement, straight up, to go long, and i bowl on very heavy oil. i got this ball and stood in the center and i have high speed and high revs. i shot about 8 games goin 1 board to pocket and sometimes brooklyn. in those 8 games i averaged 195. this ball is great, on heavy oil it will slide out and hit the dry backend and move right in. on dry oil(which typically means a wet backend) it will go straight, and cut through the carry down.
I hate league bowlers.

Well this has been the hottest ball on the market, in our shot for the last month.

We have drilled about 40 of these ball, with everyone raving about them.

If you are looking for a ball to get through the fronts on the late shift, but still need some backend, then you can't go wrong with this ball.

The Center, that Buddies is located in, has a lot of 2nd shift Men's league, and they need something to get down the lane when the head burn up, and this is the ball of choice.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give this ball a 9.  A great release from Columbia and great for those drier lanes.  When you are looking for something between a Scout and a Ti Messenger, reach for this ball.

This is a great ball if you happen to run into moderate carry-down! Mine is drilled with a 75 degree (approximately 12:00) pin about 4 1/2" from my PAP.

Medium lenght, strong back end, great for when the heads are starting to break down and the back-ends are still a little tight. It rolls a little sooner than what I had anticipated, but it doesn't lose anything on the back end. I've left it in box condition because it fills a hole in my arsenal, I think with a trip to the spinner I might be able to get the ball to hook later, but I have other equipment for that.

A very nice ball at a moderate price..9++

For review purposes, I put more than average revs on the ball, and have average speed.  My PAP is 4 3/4 X 1/2 down.  Therefore, I have an inverted track.  This creates early roll which is why in most reviews you will read that the layouts of my equipment will be no less than 4 X 4.

This is a good one people. I drilled mine 4 1/2 X 4 1/2. It had a 3 1/2 inch pin to start with.  The lanes were pretty normal as when I start with this ball, there is heavier oil in the heads and clean backends.  After a game or so, the oil tends to carrydown pretty quickly.

This ball rolls truer than true. It gets great length with a nice strong breakpoint to the pocket. It doesn't do anything crazy on the backend, except for make it back to the pocket just about every time. I got a few out to the right that I though would be a two pin or light seven and it ended up smashing the hole. Even though this is true, it is very controllable and hits as well as anything I have thrown. For me, the ball fits perfectly between my Rock Star and Surge. I didn't think I would be able to find a ball that was better than my Surge, but this one might be it.

As an addition to this review. I am still very pleased with this ball. I have found that the one condition I have come across that it does not work the best on is with some carry down. The ball tends to get to far down the lane and therefore leave a lot of ten pins since the ball is entering the pocket too late. I usually solve that problem by picking up my Rock Star. Check out that review as to why it would solve my carry down problems.

I just recently purchased the Messenger TI Pearl. I absolutely love the ball, I think that it is the greatest ball that I have in my bag. I had it drilled just off label with the pin over my ring finger and with stacked leverage. The ball goes very long and gives it all at the backend. My first tournament with the ball I shot a 254 and a 279 to start the first two games. I have it with the factory finish to go extra long. I have very little thomb weight in the ball. The ball has very little flare to it, just more of a skid snap roll. For me it works very well on conditions that have senthetic lanes with the guardian cover over them. It does not hook alot at all but it finishes very hard. For the price the ball is excellent. For the tweener which I am it is a very hard finishing ball.

Lefty- Above avg revs, and speed.
PAP- 51/2 over 1/4 up

Ball is drilled right over label.
Pin in center of grip with cg kicked slightly left.
Exact distance is 51/2 X 41/2. Pin out ball 1".

Bowled on 7 to 7 shot with heavy oil in middle.
Fairly dry outside 4-5 units.

Ball is excellent in med-dry if you have good speed.
Let up and  forget it its gone.
Not the best choice for heavy oil.

This ball gets through the heads good, with a sharp
but not overly sharp backend reaction. Excellent carry
