Any Hyde owners out there?
« on: August 04, 2003, 07:19:32 PM »
I got one off E-Bay at a price that was very good to me. I am curious what other owners have to say about it, and where it fits into thier game?

hi guys.. i'm a hyde owner and i jus got this baby 2 weeks ago.. this ball really performs on med to really oily surfaces but this pro is also another con.. hooks too much on dry lanes unless u deliver the ball at lighting speed.. it has quite a gd hitting power and would be quite a useful weapon in everyone's arsenal..

I rolled a Hyde on a medium, fresh, 6:00 shot one league night several months ago.  It had a smooth roll to it.  The oil pattern was a typical crown with good oil up the middle, lighter oil outside, and fresh backends.  This ball was not flippy for me at all.  This ball will not like the extremes.  But, it will defintely fit on medium condition.

i think this ball can do well in med, med heavy to oily condition.. but it is best for med-med heavy cond where the ball is able to grip the lane well and strike the pins wif power, getting strikes easily once u are around the pocket.. for oily, maybe other high end c300 ballz can do better..

I have a dozon games under my belt with this ball so far, and I have to agree with another poster, that this ball could very well be a sleeper from Columbia.
I dont see anyone else throwing it but me in 2 houses so far. Thus far, its the only ball that comes out of the bag.......with the exception of a fresh league condition ( which I will see on Sept 8th) so far, the Icon hooks way to much, so it sets in the ball rack. During my last 6 games my average has shot up close to 40 pins with the Hyde.
Im loving this ball, I use it for spare as well........:-)
