Columbia 3 ball set
« on: July 02, 2008, 08:46:01 PM »
what would be a good choice if i wanted to make a 3 ball set with only columbia? i throw about 14-15 mph and my local proshop owner said i throw about a 250-300 rev rate. i dont turn the ball that much either.

Resurgence or Momentum Swing which you can always sand down depending on what your bowling on

Momentum, ball is amazing, definately pick one up

A Jazz maybe for the lighter stuff

Momentum Swing - Med-Heavy
polished Rival - Med-light
Wrath Dead Flush (drilled weakly) - drier, maybe spares

if you have an extra $70, pick up a Blue Dot for spares
Blue Dot, keeps goin, and goin, and goin, til it hits the pin/pins

That lineup sounds good. I was just saying Momentum Swing instead of Resurgence, so you can have one ball that has more flip.

Resurgence, Rival, and Jazz are 3 balls with alot of roll, and with your speed the Resurgence will only be good for floods

Momentum Swing is Resurgence core + new cover that will get the ball through the heads a little better than the Resurgence, not a whole lot better, but enough to where you could use it a little more often on heavier mediums

But, again it is you who decide and if you can pickup a Resurgence cheap and don't mind not using it as much as the Rival or Jazz, go ahead it still is a great 3 ball lineup.

I got to say though a Blue Dot is a great investment

I would recommend the Momentum Swing over the Resurgence simply because of the ball speed.  He is a little slower than average so I would say the Swing to help get the ball down the lane a little cleaner and still give him help on the backend.  Then, I would suggest the Arch Rival over the regular Rival for the same reason on mediums.  Then, obviously the Jazz on lighter conditions.

Momentum Swing
Arch Rival
Jazz

Sorry TWOHAND, but I have to disagree with you on the Arch Rival, because it will be too strong of a ball, again same reason as Resurgence, ball speed is just too slow.

If the Rival is just a little to strong in the mid-lane oob, he can just add some polish to it, as the Rival takes well to surface changes.

I am unsure about the Arch Rival, except that I know it is stronger down lane than the original, I have never thrown the Arch Rival, so I am not very helpful with information about the Arch Rival
