I couldnt help myself...
« on: April 27, 2008, 11:53:12 PM »
I had to get another Wrath Dead Flush. lol....

After shooting 734, 637, 658 in the USBC state tourny 2 weeks ago, shooting 729 in city tourny with it, and a 701 in my league on sunday, I couldnt help myself. In open bowling, I havent shot a sub-200 game with the ball.
This ball is just flatout amazing. I honestly cant say enough about it.
If you are looking for a new money ball, this is it. No doubt.

So, guys, what's the difference in ball reaction between the Dead FLush and the High Flush??

BTW nice bowling! (It's the bowler, not the ball.)

In all honesty, I have never thrown a High flush.
But I do know that my dead flush has a very strong but controllable backend, and it can handle a fair amount of oil. It is honestly the first ball that has a VERY strong backend BUT its a controllable backend. I know that may not make sense, you just have to try one out and see for yourself...
It carries like no other also, first ball i have ever thrown that came in light YET still sent pins airborne. It was crazy...

Thanks,
Chrispy

Is the High Flush going to be discontinued? Look at what Buddies has posted on their site:  http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/4807/Columbia_300_Wrath_High_Flush_Bowling_Ball_-_Discontinued.htm

The High Flush might be getting discontinued but the Wrath Dead Flush is fairly new so I am sure that one won't be..

What type of conditions have you used it with? is it really a med-lite oil ball too?

Finally punched up my second Dead Flush, drilled pin above middle finger, cg below ring finger.

Once again, flatout amazing ball. Its just so forgiving...throwing it out, it reads the dry perfectly, never taking off too early. But on top of that, I pulled it a few times, and to my amazement, it just slid like a spare ball straight into the pocket. I thought it was gonna take of brooklyn, which any other ball I have would have done, but it stayed the course right into the pocket for a slightly high flush strike. Hits like it was made of lead, pins just flying absolutely everywhere.
I think they should change the name to "Dead Sexy" though, lol. Colors are amazing...

First set I go 226, 263, 237 for a nice 726 out of the box. Shot was freshly run 39ft THS.

If you havent gotten this ball by now, DO IT.

For those who dont know, I have been a Brunswick loyal for 7 or 8 years. Every now and then, I buy a non-brunswick ball just to be different every now and then. I still love brunswick, but I can honestly say that I am VERY IMPRESSED with Columbia's Dead Flush. I will definitely be watching some of Columbias new products...Kudos to Columbia on this one though.

Thanks,
Chrispy

Yes I would agree I have one myself,.  Thinking of getting another one drilled different.  The one I have now is drilled with the pin above the ring finger!  Great rolling ball, excellent carry.

Does everyone agree that the High Flush has a little more backend?

I can't figure out the difference except it sounds like High Flush is solid and Dead Flush is pearl.

Shades of the old TiBoss II pearl but with a coverstock for today....eh?

Also....any comparisons of the Dead Flush to a Twisted Fury?

My instincts tell me a slight amount of more midlane from the Twisted?  Thoughts?

I do...however, it is a stronger ball all around...stronger than I was expecting when I bought it...which isn't a bad thing...

Lefty,
Twisted Fury is a very different ball, not many similarities. Twisted is very aggressive and at times it overreacts. The one I have also seems to be condition specific, and I can go to 3 or 4 different houses and only get a similar reaction out of 1 or 2 of the houses. The Twisted is also much more angular off the breakpoint, and at times uncontollable. The Twisted DOES get into a roll earlier than the Dead Flush. The Dead Flush hasnt overreacted once for me, granted I have only bowled 3 games on a fresh THS.
I do think however, that the Twisted would be able to handle more oil than the Dead Flush. The Twisted also hits very hard, while the only problem I have with mine is carrying 10-pins.
My Twisted is drilled pin above and right of ring, cg in the palm.

Hope this Helps
