Layout Advice for Perfect Rival
« on: April 14, 2009, 11:43:32 PM »
Hey everyone.  I am looking for some advice on how to lay out my Perfect Rival.  My stats are (from my profile):

PAP: 4 1/4" over, 1/4" up
325 RPM on CATS
30 degree axis tilt
18.0-18.5 mph
Span:  4 3/4" x 4 3/4"
Thumb Pitch:  1/4" Reverse x 1/8" Lateral

I am looking for the Perfect Rival to be a "long-and-strong" type of ball in my arsenal.  I would like very good length, strong backend but not skid-flip (if possible).  I am thinking about going with a 5" Pin to PAP layout, pin over for length, which would put it right above my middle finger. I would have the cg at about 4" over, under my ring finger.  The ball is 3" pin out, with 2.75 oz. top weight.  I would fine tune reaction with an x-hole if needed, or recommended by anyone here.  Here is what is in my current arsenal to give you an idea of where I want the PR to fit:

Brunswick Copperhead, 800 Scotch Brite (RICO drilled)
Brunswick Twisted Fury Solid, 4000 Abralon (4" Pin above ring, 45 degree PSA, no x-hole)
Brunswick Swarm, 2000 Abralon w/Rough Buff (5" Pin below middle, x-hole 6 3/4" from pin through cg)
Brunswick Fury Pearl TE, 4000 Abralon (Pin in palm, cg 45 degrees from grip center, no x-hole)
Hammer No Mercy, 2000 Abralon (Drilling pattern #2 w/pin in middle finger)

Thanks for any help you can give me on layout ideas.
